I've always been at odds with Dwebble's original Bug/Rock typing, and had the idea to make a water type Dwebble a while back. Now that the new Alola form switches a PokΓ©mon's typing, a water type Dwebble could make sense so I finally had a reason to bring this version to life! It was also my first attempt at a Sugimori style drawing. I used a tablet to draw Dwebble, laptop (Gimp) to color/shade, and iPhone with a plethora of apps to do the rest.Related content

Regardless... Dwebble's one of those Pokemon from gen 5, the gen that I started with, that somehow found a special place in my heart ever since I was little. I would be very happy if this was real.

It does kinda take you out of the PokΓ©mon mindset. I thought about doing a Slowbro type look in its evolution and making it into a large anemone that encases the shell. The anemone would then somehow become its own Pokemon I guess lol.

I like this Alolan Dwebble design, it resonates with me because I used to have a ton of tropical hermit crabs as mini pets. Great job on the design. Maybe perhaps if you were thinking of doing more fan made Alonan Form designs, maybe you could try out an Alolan Magnemite. Ever since Alolan Forms were announced I thought it would be intriguing to see a more natural looking Magnemite as opposed to a normal industrial Electric/Steel Magnemite.

Oh that's great, thank you for actually taking my suggestion, can't wait to see what it's typing is. Hopefully we get a lot of unique Alolan Forms in Pokemon Sun and Moon, personally I want to use that Ice/Fairy Ninetales.
