Description
This piece is about loving your body image, no matter what "flaws" the material world thinks there are. When coming up with this concept, I first thought of drawing just Sakura, because I needed to work on my own insecurities, and Sakura and I share forehead insecurities. Growing up, I refused to pull my hair back into a ponytail until I was 16 (when my volleyball team coaxed me into it) because I thought my large forehead made me look horrendous. Even still, I would look at the mirror and my eyes instantly pinpoint my forehead. So, yes Sakura haters, it is a real insecurity, as much as you like to bash it.
Then, I decided to draw Hinata and Ino as well, because I've been dying to draw the two of them as of late.
I know what you're thinking: "What? Why did you draw them? They are beautiful! Doesn't that defeat your message?" And it may for some people. However, I chose to draw these girls because they (particularly Sakura and Hinata) receive a LOT of fandom hate, and good amount of the insults thrown at them is about their appearances. Ino's part was harder to do, because most of the trash talk she receives is about her being a "slut."
If we all struggle with our body image, why do we tear down others' images?
In case you can't read the statements on the ribbons:
Sakura:
"My forehead is beautiful"
"My hair is unique but lovely"
"'Small' breasts are sexy too"
"Yes, I do have hips and womanly curves"
Hinata:
"My hair is beautiful"
"My eyes are not weird"
"My breasts should not be objectified"
"I am not fat, nor should weight matter"
"Wearing modest clothing is sexy, not 'frumpy'"
Ino:
"Blondes are not bimbos"
"Wearing a midrift top does not make me a slut"
"I am not anorexic because I diet"
This was done in Prismacolor markers, and it took me FOREVER to finish.

Wow. This is amazing. Especially with "Wearing modest clothing is sexy, not 'frumpy'." I really think that hits things right on the dot for me. There's a lot here that I really adore. Good work.

The ones about Ino and Sakura, my fave girls, were the most wonderful for me because too often they get bashed for the reasons you listed.

It's very beautiful; and very inspirational. I am making an e-card; and I was wondering if I could use this.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it.
However, please don't use it in an e-card. While I'm flattered that you think its good enough for one, having it become available as an e-card would make it very difficult for me to keep track of how my art is being used or reproduced.

Sorry tell me if I'm wrong but. You mention hinata's breasts being objectified, and here's my thing. No one complains when girls drool over a sexy shirtless man. They're objectifying him too, but guys don't get mad or start a big thing over that. Or heck say you like guys with pretty boy faces. You're enjoying that pretty face right? You're objectifying him. We all objectify when we see members of the sex we're attracted to. It's not a crime as long as we don't forget to pay attention to personality as well. Sorry but I've seen a hundred things with women complaining about being objectified and it seems there's a big double standard.

Reguardless of how accurate this is to how they are really drawn, I'm glad that you took the time to stand up for these women. They really don't deserve all of the hentai crap that revolves around them. I've seen the hentai, I was not turned on at all, and it is as insulting as it is pitiful. There is so much more to them than their bodies.
Thank You.
P.S. I will love hinata forever.

Wow very nice work. I love very much the message of it.
We should accept our body just the was it is. And I think we can look nice only if we feel good in our clothes. So let's wear our hair how we like and let's dress as we like! : D
It took me years to understand this. Now I want to help for others who feel the same way too. Seeing this kid of work makes me feel that I'm not the only one, there're thousands and hundrets of girls who think the same. And I hope they'll understand this things one day (: β₯
