They would still be be incantors, it's more about if they have to vocalize their spells not what they are wearing. It's just the word 'incantation'. Nice try though ahhaha.

copied from the text on the original:
Mages fall into different classes in Chetoria. Incantors, Technologists, Priests and Casters. The different classes can be mixed for even stronger magic, but only the main class will be where the strongest skills lie.

Incantors are the mages that stand in the back and dish out the heavy end offensive magics protected by the other warriors and Casters. Unlike Casters, Incantors have to vocalize their magic to properly use it. Their voice being the trigger that sets it off. They have three specialty weapons they can use which are their spell cards, runic chalk and the typical spell book. Each has their ups and downs and some are more effective than others. A Chetorian's training will determine which weapon works best for them.

Its mostly an illustration to go with the text so I didn't want a background on it. :/

Hi! It is nice to see your new gallery. I was a big fan of yours back on VCL, mostly for your nifty anatomy and all the crazy situations you drew. I had no idea you had such a talent for clothing and decoration.

The boots this guy is wearing are really sweet! If I was a kitty, I would definitely want a set of these so I would dig my claws in when I wanted to run and stuff. But I am most impressed with the shiny stitches around the flames on the tunic. I have never seen it done quite that way before and I find it really pleasing.

As far as the pants thing goes, yeah, I didn't think he was wearing pants either at first. Once I looked closely, though, I could tell that his main fur color was different from the pants. I guess if it is important to the story/character/whatever that he is clothed/armored then you could make the fur a little oranger and the pants a little beiger, or do a texture difference, or do a gradient on the fur and not the pants. If its not important, then hey, it looks great either way.

that is one BEAUTIFUL PIECE! i love the way you colored both this and the Female picture after this. their coloring is so fluid. i been analyzing these for hours trying to see how you got such a color mode with open canvas. i myself use open canvas, but i cant seem to get colors to blend the way i want to when i use the watercolor brush. it always seems like theres a fine line between tones and values of the same color i use, when it should be. so i was wondering, how many layers of the same color do u use? i mean, like in that batch of red clothing at hs legs, its very gradient, was that jsut one layer of color? and u jsut continued to change the color ever so slightly and go over it? or did you make a new multiple layer and go over that? see thats wher ei always get stuck, my lcolor layering and my shades and highlites are always misblended or something. im so confused! !_!

ne ways. if u could help thatd be great!

OMG I LOVE THIS DRAWING!!!!!!

This is how I work:
flats-one layer
shading-different layer
highlights-addition layer set at 75% or 50%

When you do the shading, if you blend it with white the color below will be seen through the layer.
You should never have to touch your flats unless it's for like fixing up some coloring or if you want to add designs that will not alter the shading.

fantasyfan2610 In reply to kamicheetah [2004-12-17 09:29:31 +0000 UTC]

are your flats and shading standard layers? or are they multiple? and if so, wat order to you put them in, like which layer is on top of which other layer?
i tried it jsut quicklyl i put down a flat layer, and then added another standard layer for shades, changed the color to a shade that was a bit darker, and when i began to color, it started as a white tint, and when i added more, it became the exact color it was supposed to be. but there was a definate distinguishable line between the flat and the original.
do i copy the flats to the shading and the highlites layer?

sry to be a bother thanx again kami, YOUR THE BEST!!!! SERIOUSLY! *hugz to death*

Well, I still primarily use oc 1 for coloring so the flats and shading would be multiply layers by default and it wouldn't matter the order. but in that case the flats would be normal, the shading would go above it as a multiply layer. It's best not to blend at the edges as it does pick up the white sometimes. I start a little just after the edge. like say || is the edge I would shade ||-->here.

Okay...umm...this is a very nubbish question, but how do you get your colors like that? When i do it i cant seem to blend the colors quite like that. I use photoshop CS. Do you smudge the colors??

kamicheetah In reply to ReignOfHoser [2004-12-14 16:32:06 +0000 UTC]

No, I use Open Canvas' watercoloring tool to blend colors with.

That's one crazy wee costume design. The glowing horned skull accoutrement is nifty. The overall coloring is slightly blurry though, and it kinda distracts my eye from the neat imagery.

Professor-Lysander [2004-10-30 03:47:11 +0000 UTC]

I like your colors. And the costume design is quite imaginative. Were you inspired by anything in particular? It's not every day I see a guy in a bodice.

His hips seem a little too wide to me, but besides that, this would make an excellent portfolio piece.

kamicheetah In reply to Professor-Lysander [2004-10-30 04:48:31 +0000 UTC]

Sure you do, and no it's not a bodice. He's got body tape on. His jacket is tapered inward toward his waist. No I wasn't inspired by anything.

your colour always makes me feel the need to cut off my hand if i try to colour again XXXD
anyhow, i LOVE this. i've always been one for heavier outer-outlines but it seems you've more than mastered the colouring over a sketch. i also like the fact you left some of the stray lines around the perimeter of the drawing.
