Description

Crabweed had been acting strange for a while. Very still, and not very hungry.
Hawkweed brought his little friend to Kviir more than once, asking for his help in healing her. Bless him, the ocuuli really did try, but in the end, there was nothing either could do.
Kviir knew this far before Hawkweed did. Whether she was old or simply sick, she wouldn't last.

When it was over, the pup couldn't help but draw parallels to other losses and worries in life.
Kviir let him raise his voice and yell his confusion out, knowing that despite Hawk's genuine love for his little pet, his anger had little to do with the creature.

As Hawkweed settled down at his guardian's side near the end of the night, he accepted the lessons he'd learned through losses might be more valuable than they were painful. And maybe they made 'sense'.

Still, he didn't want any more lessons for a long while yet.

He thought to himself that he'd learned quite enough.
