I loved Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.
I loved with all my forces.
The most beauty and touching anime I've ever seen.
I recommend it to all the anime-viewers.
And yes, the girl of the short hair is Joan Of Arc, as she is seen at the Episode 12. I don't consider this as a spoiler, but well.

It would make sense as to why Joan would become a magical girl, and its good she didn't become a witch, but its still sad she was burned at the stake...
