Description
Help me choose one to make!I'm currently taking a class called 3D Fundamentals 2 at school and our term project is to create a real life helmet model. These are some thumbnails for a cybernetic batman helmet I'm doing, but I have yet to choose one. I'm trying to emphasize the fear bringing aspect of his costume and I want to give him a suit with a matching helmet that will let him take on more high-powered foes and sustain itself in hazardous environments.
Follow me on my blog! [link]
So which one is your favorite? Which one reads as the "Batman" most well?? I'd really appreciate it if you told me why you like a specific one, too.
EDIT: I've numbered them so it would be easier to refer to each one. lol.

You are welcome, can I get your permission to possibly sculpt a really small head of one of your Batman helmet designs?, I would appreciate it thank you.

Thank you for your permission, I was planing to make a sculpture the first time I saw this amazing designs of yours, but now I have a hard job by choosing one of the helmets (a very difficult task I have to say), and also a design for the body (and again, something that make the helmet design justice). I will come with a sketch soon for your approval if you agree of course. Hope to know about you soon. My best wishes.

Definitely 5 and 14. Those have amazing shapes to them.
Their design have similarities to each other, so that is why I am suggesting both of them. (because I can't choose which looks better)
Though I am not really into Batman; I don't mind giving my two cents. The fact you can still see his eyes with those two masks keeps the eerie-ness of his original flair, but still shows some of that cybernetic goodness.

haha i chose number 22, but i think i'm going to add some alterations to the design while sculpting it . The sculpture should be finished and painted within 10 weeks so hopefully ill post the finished product then!

Whenever you make the mask, is it going to be wearable?

Haha thanks!! and sorry for the late reply unfortunately we can't wear the mask, itll only be a model but it will be life-size. i wish i could cast it so i could wear it but thats too much work! if you're interested in being updated on the progress of the helmet follow me on my blog! [link] im on there more often than on dA nowadays.

Lots of excellent craft here, and an interesting question!
It's tough to choose.
My criteria. . . Many of these faces look wounded, as though he's suffered a severe trauma, having lost nose and facial tissue. The fear inspired by that kind of feature triggers on the response humans have when confronted with disease, a need to back away so we don't catch whatever he's got.
I think the ones where his face looks more intact, like a snub-nosed hunting cat mixed with insect mandibles work better to inspire a predator-type fear, which I think is more appropriate for Batman. 5 and 25 seem to look more like a self-contained predator rather than a victim. 10 is also pretty good for a robot, plus it looks more insect-like. The only problem is that bats eat insects, they aren't insects themselves.
Bruce Wayne does everything for a reason. Does the exposed machinery serve a function other than psychological? Exposed parts break. Number 30 has some interesting possibilities. A central camera is very 'robot', but if he's inside the mask himself, I think he'd probably go for stereo vision.
Whatever the case, it looks like a really fun project!

wow this was some very in depth input! There were things you brought up that I hadn't thought of, like the exposed machinery issue, I think I know how to address that but we'll see in the coming weeks i suppose haha. thank you very much!!!

I think num 30 would inspire the most fear.

Wow! Those are so cool! I think #1 seems to me to be the most "heroic" out of the rest, and still feel like you could say "that is the batman". BUT, #10 looks more like a bat, which, I'm guessing Bruce would probably have an idea to mimic this headgear out of for - as you said - fear. However, I think #1 doesn't feel very "clear-cut" and feels a bit too exposed with detailed machinery. Maybe a combination of #1 and #3's mouthpiece?
either way, this is SO awesome.

hmmm thanks for the input, to be honest, I hadn't considered using the first one at all. I'm definitely thinking of combining different mouthpieces for my final one though haha
