Seeing Franz is going to have almost immediately sent Nate crashing into a PTSD induced panic attack. He bailed on the rest of the festivities and immediately went back to his room, but this is going to screw him up for the rest of the night. Narcisa is going to have her work cut out for her.

I had a lot of fun picking out “key” moments and images to throw in here, and these are all pulled straight from past entries and events. The dialogue is quoted from some of the final rounds of BFOI Year 2. and the godforsaken final Y3 entry I still plan on finishing

Nate’s trauma here is two-fold tho. Besides the attempts on Nate’s own life and the life of his friends, Franz is the one who caused the ice storms that killed the Woman-now-Froslass who possessed Nate and is now bonded to his soul. So some of these flashbacks aren’t even his own. But while he’s been dealing with that for a while now, this is the hardest he’s been hit in a long time.

A had a third splash set between these two originally, where Nate confronted Franz (who really couldn’t have cared less) before being hauled off by Aramis (who’d only seen Nate that angry once before, and he kinda got kicked in the face that time), but I had to cut it for time constraints. It accidentally introduced an intriguing idea I might try to run with tho, because despite these entries centering around Franz, he’s not depicted anywhere in them. Which could be bizarrely representative of the fact that no one sees Franz, at least not the way Nate sees him. So it’s almost like he’s reacting to someone who doesn’t exist, at least officially.

In any case, the first day of Jubilee festivities did not go well for him X’D
