I can't believe 15 years of dying Leomons have passed. Digimon is absolutely my favorite anime and fandom! I have made so many friends because of this series and even though I don't make fanart of it now(It's been 4 years since the last one), it's the main reason why I started digital art and wow... since the 12th anniversary art, I think I can see how much I've grown. I really have Digimon to thank that I started this whole rp thing, made friends, and continued to strive with art.
Anyway, about this artwork, I wanted to do something really simple because I'm so occupied with stuff right now--but well, I couldn't help myself and look! I painted the partners in their rookie form(//VERY PROUD)! I will always wonder how Sora ended up with Yamato... This is one of the mystery of my childhood. Yup. Even now I am wondering(laughs).

Digimon was a powerful part of being a kid for me. I got into it during a dark time in my childhood and it helped me to stay afloat through the med trials, early puberty (at age seven), the bullying, the weeks in the hospital for Ritalin-induced psychosis, drug dependency, the rehab, and the loneliness. And all before age ten. It's an anchor to the times before the cages, the amnesia, and the PTSD. It keeps me anchored to that little blonde kid who used to wear his martial arts gi whenever he could, who would daydream up stories and legends, and would build lego replicas of Agumon and draw the Digidestined's crest in the mud with his spear in the rain whenever the desert had a storm. The kid who just wanted to be a hero whenever he could and however he could. That's what digimon means to me: It represents the last vestiges of my childhood before my nine years of hell began. They're very beautiful memories. Thank you for this piece. You have no idea the beauty of the memories it unlocked when I saw it during one of my PTSD fits.Β

Sorato will be one of the greatest mysteries of anime for me too haha. I was really devastated that they moved Tri to November and now they're making them mini-movies or something huhu.
