Again first time with Kabuto and apparently trees, I tried to keep the wounds accurate. the little squiggles are suppose to be burns. so here you are....chapter 4!

Chapter Four: To The Limit

Anko leapt gracefully from branch to branch, she stuck to the tree tops where her identity was easily concealed. It had already been two days and she had covered all of the camps but one, laid out on the map Tsunade had given her. Unfortunately, her exhaustion was more than she had initially expected. At the rate she was going she would not make it to the last camp before she had to report in. The distance was placed the furthest from the village on the north side. (Come on legs, we can run faster! MOVE!) She began increasing her pace, causing an uncomfortable pain in her abdomen. (Come on Kid! lemme have this mission! ) She did her best to ignore the pain, which only ended in her turning green and vomiting off the side of a tree branch. (SHIT! This sucks.) Sweat formed on her brow as a fever began to rise in her cheeks.

"Maybe I should rest a bit." She slumped backward resting her back against the tree trunk and dangling her legs off the branch. "You sure make it hard to breath and bend. what am I gonna do with you?" Her eyes began to droop and she shook herself. "This is no place for a nap. Wake up Anko!" She reached into her pocket and withdrew a small round tablet. "Here's one for the road" She popped the energy pill into her mouth and swallowed hard. "nasty." (I haven't failed a mission yet, I am not about to start here either! ) She picked herself back up and began to move again, ignoring any sort of protest her body was giving her. (Just this last camp to check out and I am home free.)

Her feet reluctantly carried her the distance until she was within eye shot of the last encampment of the sound nin. (I need to get a closer look.) Anko slid down carefully from the tree trunk and poofed herself into the nearest bush. (Odd....) She looked around the encampment from the shadows but found no signs of life. (Where is everyone? They couldn't have just deserted....could they?) A snap from behind her sparked the butterflies in her stomach and stole her attention. She quickly flipped around to a white-haired bespectacled man, clad in purple. "KABUTO!" he snickered pushing his glasses onto the bridge of his nose.

"I wondered when you were going to notice me." He began pacing around her, Anko's brown eyes followed his every move carefully, waiting for him to attack. (I am in no shape for a fight, I must avoid this at all costs. Although, I could extract information from him......) "I was sorely disappointed, Orochimaru gives you too much credit." He sighed dramatically. Anko pulled out her kunai and assumed an aggressive position.

"Tch! Sorry to disappoint!" Kabuto waived it off nonchalantly. Anko growled clutching her weapon even tighter in her hand. "What are you trying to do by surrounding Konoha?" The medical nin shook his finger at her.

"Na-ah-ah! Not so fast." Kabuto took another step toward her as she bent her knees preparing to strike."I wouldn't try that, you wont last a round with me." The violet haired kunoichi scoffed.

"You think so? What makes you so sure?" A half-cocked grin spread across the bespectacled nin's face. he charged her with a kunai. Anko attempted to slide under his blade, unable to bend all the way over, Kubuto's blade sliced deep through her back. Blood began to seep through the back of her trench coat. She twisted around and pulled eight kunai out of her sleeves and sent them flying in his direction, One managed to hit his right shoulder and another skimmed his left cheek. The rest he deflected easily. Anko growled trying to ignore the pain on her back and in her abdomen, charging him once more. With a few swift hand movements The kunoichi sent sleeve fulls of snakes flying down on Kabuto. "Hidden Snake attack" Kabuto took the damage head on. Anko kneed him in the gut and sent him backward into a tree. He slumped forward and disappeared in a cloud a smoke, leaving only a tree branch behind. (Dammit he used a replacement jutsu!) She grabbed her knees panting, out of breath.

"Huh, women are useless!" Kabuto grinned as he jumped out of the trees. "I never thought the curse mark could tell Orochimaru so much. I'll be damned he was right!" Anko instinctively grabbed the shoulder her seal was on.

"Right about what!?" the Medical ninja laughed as he pulled another kunai out of his pouch.

"Don't play stupid! It doesn't suit you." Kabuto charged her again from the side, using his chakra around his fist to break several ribs on her right side. "You can't tell by looking, your carrying it under your rib cage! How unfortunate, must be very difficult to breath, with your organs all squished up like that." Grabbing her side, Anko coughed and sputtered , trying to catch her breath. "What I cant get is how your leader, Tsunade still sent you out in your condition, Or are you keeping it hidden from everyone?" Anko leapt backward into the air, moving her hands quickly she breathed in as much oxygen as she could and released her fire breath on the medical ninja below her. She coughed and hacked as she landed on her hands and knees. (Damn, I can't keep this up!)

"You wont beat me!" She bluffed as she surveyed the area for Kabuto. He emerged from the flames with half of his face melted off. She snicked and lunged at him with her kunai, Kabuto dodged smoothly, ripping the knife from her hand and twisting it back into her shoulder blade. "GAH!" she collapsed to the ground and rolled to her side. He chuckled, throwing her kunai to the side.

"You were saying?" Kabuto walked over and kicked her onto her back. she groaned, as her eyesight became blurry. "What, all bark no bite?" She barred her teeth but no sound came out. "Defeated so easily? As a reward for your efforts, I'll tell you why we are surrounding your village." Anko did her best to listen over the throbbing in her ears. "We are going to take Sasuke, even if we have to level the whole village." Anko coughed up blood. "And also...." He knelt down by her ear and whispered just so she could barely hear his voice. "Orochimaru is going to take this from you too..." He rested his palm over her firm abdomen, rubbing it in soft circular patterns. Anko cringed and rose up with a new fury. Kabuto Punched her in the face causing a huge gash to tear on her left cheek. "Bitches should stay down." Anko swung her leg knocking him backward, giving her enough time to stand.

"NEVER!" She grabbed his throat and threw him against a tree. She grabbed his shoulders and pressed her thumb in one of his open wounds, causing him to shriek. She rose her fist and punched him over and over till his face looked like a mangled burned mass. She dropped him into a heap on the ground and kicked his limp body with all the force she could find. "HE WILL TAKE NOTHING ELSE FROM ME!" her forehead protector came loose and fell to the ground. "....Nothing...." She spat blood on his face and made her way back to the village.
