this just started out as a practice with designing robotic sexynessand then it turned into a drawing with both gen1 and gen2
THEN IT TURNED INTO A FULL PAINTING BLAGHHGEHGEHG
and in the meantime i had someone commission sitting on my head for the past 6 months

Looks great, except Bionicle masks don't have mouths. It's a mask, not a face. It'd be fine if there was just a hole in the mask.

Man, i've always loved bionicles ever since i could remember.. my bionicle was in the place of a barbie to me XD

Not sure how I feel about the mouths, because on one hand, it makes them look like the movies, and it's easier to tell what's going on expression-wise, but on the other hand, to me, it makes them look like both have really dry lips
Having said all that, I like what you've done here. The additional cracks/scratches on Gen 1's mask fit perfectly, make it look like he's seen his fair share of scrapes. It's a sleek mask, as it should be, and I like how 'hot' his eyes look. He's got a raging fire inside of him in all senses of the word.
Gen 2 looks wiser, battle hardened. I agree with Mate397, it's as if he's about to go Turaga or something.
I like how much more angular the jaw is compared to the G1 mask, makes the previous mask look younger by comparison.
I guess in a way masks do age with their bearers, but they probably wouldn't transition like this unless the Red Star or some other force was at play.
I also like the subtle differences in the metal collar-bone. Is G2's thicker as his set is more well-armored? I have to wonder.
