Description
This is a part of my final project for the Introduction to Photography class. Shot this over spring break during the last week of March with cooperation of ~ casus-solariI asked him to draw an abstract self-portrait of himself on the lawn bag- he drew the image within a minute.

The first photo is a portrait of John wearing his own self-portrait.
The second photo is a portrait of John ripping apart his own self-portrait.
The last photo is is a portrait of John staring down at his self-potrait which he ripped apart.
Taken with a Canon Elan 7NE camera, using 28-105mm f4-5.6 Lens with Kodak Tri-X 400 film. Minor dust and scratches cleaned up, and a black border added with Photoshop.

Henri, as your photography clearly comes from the painter within you, have you thought about using your pictures as studies? this and the last in the series with john bursting through the bag would work quite well with your style of artistry; both shots are very good examples of composition and contrast, but I think your brush would do the thoughts behind them better justice. Just a thought.

the concept is really neat
i would have done the angle differently
but thats just me ...
otherwise looks good
again i have an issue with the contrast
but its all good

Very cool. I'm really glad these didn't turn out looking as pretentious and melodramatic as they could have been. In fact, they don't look so at all. Anyway, excellent, I'm loving every one of these. I love the strange atmosphere in this one.
