Believe it or not, I've actually never seen the shining! I've only seen that one part of the movie. I do plan on watching it, though!

If you do want to watch the movie I don't recommend reading the book first. The book is great but the movie leaves out and changes SO MANY things that it almost feels like a different story.
That and it's like 600 pages or something so you have to really want to read about a guy going insane and trying to kill his family. He goes insane... very... slowly.
