Everything looks good so far for this show despite my concerns.Β Except the way the characters are drawn. I mean the backgrounds are freakin gorgeous but then you see the anatomy on the characters and its like wtf???? I understand it will be on disney junior butΒ why would they put all that talent and effort into the backgrounds and then just half ass the characters? Doesnt make sense to me..... but this is my "better drawn" version of Fuli. This is more what i think she would look like if she appeared in the style of the first movie. I plan on doing this to all of the Guard characters but maybe i wont.... we will see.Related content

Shes less fluffy than an actual king cheetah but i see the resemblence more with her odd shaped spots.

Yea I did!! Still didn't like her design but I agree i did like her character, very much. At first when she began challenging Kion about his roar and stuff I thought she was gonna be that annoying kid that thinks there all that, but I was wrong, she was really chill and cool. I think all the characters of the Lion Guard kinda took me by surprise (except for Bunga) because they weren't your typical squad of superheros, u know? Bunga's character I kinda had figured out as being the determined but excited one. But the hippo and Ono, I wasn't expecting to think much over their character qualities, but I think they did a really good job making everyone in the Guard real cool and chill. Overall I really did like it!!Β

I mainly have an issue with how Simba is designed and he doesn't sound much like how Simba sounds usually. I mean I get they couldn't get the original voice actor but maybe a bit closer?
I didn't really have much issue with the other characters. They're not as nearly bad as some other shows I can name with poor anatomy. (I'm looking at you Sailor Moon Crystal and Adventure Time! I know Adventure Time that's just the style, but I couldn't watch the series because of the bland, loud colors and horrible designs! I can't take the show remotely serious with those designs...)

Hun, even a 5 year old with bad drawing skills can point out the bad anatomy in Sailor Moon Crystal Seasons I and II. I know what good and bad animation looks like because I've seen so many movies and series and even do reviews on them. Even Go Princess Precure which aired around the same time as Season 2 of Crystal, had better animation and usually the artists of precure don't necessarily do a master piece either. Β And I don't hate Sailor Moon Crystal, least all of it. Season 3 rocked! I love Season 3 of Crystal!

Take a deep breath and chill. It's my opinion. If you don't agree. That's fine. Nothing personal against you. Kudo points to you for liking something, I did not like. More power to you if you even think it's a masterpiece. If I offended you, well sorry, but you know, you could have just not read my comment. You could have just commented the picture and moved on instead as Mufasa once said "looking for trouble".
Β People talk shit about the stuff I like too and as much as I disagree with what people say about the stuff I like, that's their view points and they have the right to express them. Β I don't get snooty and tell people they shouldn't talk just because I don't agree with them. That kind of attitude is immature and it's hard to take one serious with that attitude. Lion Guard's anatomy doesn't bother me too much, probably because I can't draw lions myself and to be honest, "Lion King Style" has some anatomy problems, such as; It's the darker male lion that the females are attractive to being they're stronger while lions with light color manes are typically a bit weaker, Scar's and Zira's claws being out all the time doesn't make sense, lions don't have green, red or blue eyes just amber, ect. Β So we really can't say that Disney's style is completely perfect either. (Sometimes Disney is a little too perfect with the anatomy.)
Sorry.... I just don't like the style of Adventure Time. As said those colors and that design just isn't my tastes. I mean if anyone else likes it, more power to them. Β I don't get the show concept either, least not all that much. Can't get into the episodes even the serious ones and especially the animation. It's just not my thing. As for Sailor Moon Crystal, yes. There is a lot of anatomy problems even if I admit I do like that show. I actually love making fun of the anatomy problems! XD However, thankfully the Bluray version has the fixed anatomy version so that's something.

I never really had a problem with the looks of the other lion guard members... just Fuli. She just... I don't know... is so extreme in her design that it makes no sense. She really doesn't look like she should even be a part of the show, unless they chibified it or made it one of those paper looking shows. This version is much better

No, it's her entire design. Based off of the original TLK and TLK 2 Cheetahs, she looks like nothing. Her body is so disporpotional it drives me crazy. and her markings are outrageous. I know they're meant to catch the eye of children and yes, they do, but she is continuously mistaken as a leopard. She doesn't have the cheetah tear marks, her colors clash horribly (bright ugly yellow and grey/white)... and her ears are so triangular.Β

and then we have Fuli. I could honestly look past her markings if her body was at least kind of right. There was no reason to make her anorexic. I could honestly make 5 different Fuli's based off of her original design and she would look so much better.Β Β

I feel your pain about her design. Yep, to make her stand out from the crowd as you said "to catch the eye of children." I know right? And it's meant to be a more educational show lol. Hmm..she does have rosettes like a leopard which is odd. Do you think she's based off a king cheetah? Disney just clearly want cool designs for this generation.

I think she is a king cheetah, yes. Once black spots start taking other shapes (blobs essencially), then they're reffered to as a King. To me... Fuli feels like a baser baby's creation on MSpaint, which is sad because I personally love all the other designs of the main cast! She almost feels like her coloring is more links into African tribal designs like with the mark of the guard. She really does look like an alien XD Β

Same here, and at first I wasn't sure about Kion's design. But I really love it now as more clips were released I was like "aww, he resembles Mufasa" lol. I don't care much about the other lion guard members compared to Kion. And she's the only female member as a heroine! I thought Disney would do it differently and make her design not weird. Also, is she meant to be an adolescent cheetah? Yes, most definitely xD
