Hello, I LOVE this piece if art, I just keep finding my way back to it! It's okay if you say no, but I'm just asking, may use this as a base? I'm terrible at drawing most animals, Cats are at the top of my list, so please, I was wondering if I could use this as a base for my character? I need to make a reference sheet... ;^;

Thank you very much for your constructive critism ^^. I don't draw tortoiseshell cats so often so I don't know much about which colour-sheme their fur has. Next time I'll take a colour sheet I guess xDDD

Well the tortoiseshell gene causing a mixing of black and orange (and brown sometimes) in whatever ratio chooses to show up on the cat. The white is a completely different spotting gene; it can cover up things entirely or only show up a little bit. So a cat with white paws has the gene a little and a cat that's mostly white with black ears or whatever is all black, but with one big white spot over most of it. Did that make sense? ^^
