The colors are well chosen, adds dynamics and extra posture to the picture, more character if you will (though i haven't seen the original). (unless you took it that way with filters?)

Well, I shot the picture quite early in the morning which brought soft difused light into this scene. For me it was very hard to decide how I should process this picture because it looked good with pretty much anything I've tried (like pure black and white, vintage look and even natural look with only little editing was fine). Nowadays my favourite technique is monochrome editing so I thought it would be the best way
. As you mentioned editing (I'm using Lightroom along with Photoshop) I think choosing of the right toning was the hardest thing for me
And thanks for the comment I'm glad you like this one

My eye took a minute to focus on it but it did indeed find the tree, this before reading your comments. I'm glad that that was indeed your focal point. The coloration helps give the lonesome feeling, and the lighting behind the tree gives a feeling of hope. As if the tree is making a statement that it refuses to be forgotten.

Yeah, very well written . I´m always happy reading someone´s interpretations. I´ve always wanted to put emotions and some kind of message into pictures and it´s good when others see it. In this picture I had several key things to focus on but you bring them to another level with deeper insight and that´s great

I love the colour, very atmospheric and the level of detail is wonderful.
The only thing I can think of to offer as improvement is to experiment with the horizon line, maybe to put it so the sky and grass is equal?
Wonderful work!
