You are correct about artistic bottlenecks, I personally do not have any over powered bottlenecks, but I should improve more on anatomy (which has came very far over the years, not good enough to post on DA quite yet however)

"No need to copy the reality" This is very important subject which I STRONGLY agree with to no ends, it is kind of annoying when my mom keeps bugging me to "draw from life paint from life". I believe there is a thing called the digital camera.

I fully support you in this! Fotorealistov dislike artists. I think it's a waste of time, I'm talking about drawing from life.

However, I do believe that referencing from life isn't a waste of time, sometimes I take pictures of plants to make a Photoshop Brush is a good idea to add creativity in one's artwork. Doing an EXACT duplicate of the real thing is good practice in terms of skill, but it does not exercise one's creative spirit which is equally important in terms of creating a legendary piece (or pixelated) of artwork.

In general, you're right, but not quite! The fact that the painting is an expression of emotion, rather than a desire to paint a masterpiece!
