omg..I think this one is beyond my skills..four different shapes, different grey scales and so much shadowing....!!Far to go yet..so many layers left to do and I haven't a clue what i am doing..lol..
I have already destroyed the black background....

Hi Karen...nice white marble effect...and 3d effect against the pencils...very effective...Well done ...do you use a 3a photocopy machine to transfer to the computer..

Ever work with white or black conte crayon?Β It makes white, very white and adds even more depth. Kind of like the dodge and burn in photoshop.

I haven't drawn with a pencil in a very long time.Β But did have many art classes many moons ago, so I know which tools that most artists use.
Personally I liked F pencil for the begin sketch, and of course 2B.Β Conte For highlights and fine sharp edges,Β gum eraser (it doesn't leave as many crumbs to brush away) and smudge stick, or your finger will do.

...hehe..i don't use any of that...use HB first layer, then 6 B and 8 B...and charcoal..and I use make up pads for smudge it ...thank you for your tip Pam, appreciate it.....I have those pencils already...will test them on another drawing!!!!

Nothing is ruined, you can always "fix" what bothers you. I'm sure when you get the cast shadows in it will look better to you... this exercise is about learning to represent what you see, no? Keep going, I think you're doing very well.

omg..Thanks for your peptalk..and feedback...I don't give up yet..will see if I can upload the finished piece or if it becomes trash...but will try to save it! I think I have used wrong pencils to the background..

i like me much anamorphic drawing, u know techniques used by Leonardo da Vinci e Michelangelo Buonarroti (Rome: farm1.staticflickr.com/29/6227β¦ ) but not only...in few words the fathers of this technique then copied and used by all the artists today
