Description
lines bycolor by me
umm... oh yeah. this one time(/one of the times) my brother told me not to lag him while he played his online games, sooo i needed to find something to do! i was stuck on a color theme for one of my commissions, so i couldn't work on that, so i remembered the prettyful lines by *Zaphk that i had saved just in case i decided that i wanted to color it.
I can't remember how, but it ended up that i used it for a quick lighting practice, since i well... needed to work on adding lighting to my pictures. [is usually one who uses the block-in technique to color]
compared to the original you can tell that this is a very terrible rendition. it took me less than an hour, and in the end soooo much stuff was left not cleaned up. v___v sorry zaphk.
the three parts that i think came out well: top of the hair, parts of the skirt, and her hands.
colored with mouse, PSCS2, some yellowish color, a lowered opacity brush set to multiply, and the SMUDGE tool. fun times. and on one layer. i rarely do that since i'm so paranoid i'm going to make a Huge mistake and not be able to correct it.
mmkay.

thank you very much! >w< mwee! for some reason, adorability sounds like a word to me. it's fun to use, but i haven't been commenting on pics much lately... .__.
soooo... it'd be like, there's more to focus on in the pic than just the colors and such. or something like that, right? hehe.
and yay! i've done good! x3

yup. using one color = simple. i was going more for the value practice, (even thinking about using gray) but the yellow was already selected as a foreground color and looked prettier like that. lol.

haha one layer, that is brave! I think it turned out very well *^__^* for the lineart, I think that you picked a nice range of colours. The golden-yellow seems less natural and more supernatural and heavenly. Definitely I like the hair and the way that the transitions between the shades of yellow, especially on the dress, pages, an feathers are so smooth. Personally, I think that the part in the middle is well shaded, but that the colour might be a bit too intense, if only for the fact that it draws the eye there. But very good practice, it looks great *^__^*

when i was first learning to color in photoshop, i learned to use separate layers for the different colors, and i've done that ever since.
yellow is a really pretty and uplifting color, so i thought it would fit the picture well. ^-^
yeah, at first, that midsection wasn't quite as dark as it is now, but i guess i wanted to add more contrast and give a little darker/more intense(as you call it) color to match the eyes so that the eyes wouldn't seem too out of place compared to the rest of the picture, giving it a little balance somewhat.
i thank you for the comment, it was like, this huge paragraph and so pleasant to read. i'm sorry it took me a million months to reply because i wanted to say the right words instead of just a measly "thank you for the comment." i appreciate this comment so much! ^-^

i'm so glad you understand! it just feels so awfully mean of me when i just respond to the other shorter comments and leave such a nice, more-time-put-into comment unreplied to. i always felt so bad when i skimmed through the comments and when i saw yours i was like, "it's so nice! i need to reply to it soon!! >_<" but then i end up leaving for later, and by the time i get around to it, five months pass! i need more time to catch up on dA.... and i need to do it fast.
