The birds were singing, the sun warmed the young woman's skin and somewhere in the distanse the light breeze made the leaves play soothing tones. By the woman's side was a lively looking stallion with an alert gaze and pinned ears, taking in the surroundings, breathing the clean, refreshing air. There was something about the country of green fields, the sheer purity of the emerald land. The whole scenery felt like if the two of them were captured in nature's pulsing heart. It made you wonder if this was where all life originated, that all creatures and every rock or plant was only an extension of the Irish soil.
Even if Tanya had little knowledge about what St.Patric's day was, she showed her honour by braiding green silk ribbons in both her own hair and her stallion's mane. At the side of her stallion's bridle, she pinned a green clover, bought at a stand earlier the same day. The shiny green reflected the tempered sun beams, Tanya felt the corner of her lips curve into a little smile. She enjoyed seeing her stallion so neatly groomed and with the spirited spark in his eyes. Perhaps it was the aluring green grass around that lit him up like that, she couldn't disagree that she felt a little more bright mooded herself too. Back home it wasn't nearly as green, and although she loved home, there was something revitalizing on a very different level in Ireland.
On her way to the show ring, they passed some musicians playing gaelic music, the high, lively notes from the flute pulled her lips up into a decent smile, and she felt a sudden urge inside to dance along to the music, to laugh and to hug someone. It was incredible how light and energetic these unfamiliar tunes made her feel. Compared to the kalinka, the Irish and Gaelic music made russian folk sound dark and depressed. A thought crossed her mind. Perhaps if she asked her father politely, she could stay a day more in this so utterly happy country?
