Oh, come on. As soon as Fury mentioned "flying monkeys", you KNEW this was coming!

Thinking about it, though, the main cast fits each roll pretty well:

Captain America as Dorothy-because they both wear red shoes and want to go home.

Hawkeye as the Scarecrow-because they both want a brain (or in Clint's case, he had his stolen and wants it back).

Ironman as the Tinman-because...oh, do I have to explain it?

Thor as the Cowardly Lion-because...um...his hair kinda' looks like a lion's mane? I don't know; no one in the group is cowardly by any means...but the lion had to learn to be brave despite being afraid, and Thor had to learn to be heroic and selfless, despite having no powers at the time, so...I guess they're kinda' similar in that sense.

Black Widow as Glinda the Good Witch-because...um...well, she was another deal where I didn't want to leave her out. But just like there's good and bad witches, she's an assassin on the side of good, so...I guess that's kind of similar.

Nick Fury as the Wizard-because he's in control of everything, but is also hiding a few secrets. Also, he brings the heroes together, just like all the characters are united to find the Wizard.

And Loki as the Wicked Witch of the West-because...again, do I have to even explain?

And no, I didn't forget the Hulk. He's there too. Can you spot him?

Oh, and as a bonus, I'd have Coulson as that doorman guy when the gang gets to Oz...you know, the guy who says, "Who rang that bell? The wizard says go away!"

Sorry Steve, I don't think clicking your boots together will return you to the 40s. But it's okay; the Avengers'll make you a new home here, and there's no place like it.
