Once again, Feliciana had sneaked out of the cabin and I had set out to find her before Jaime and Rin noticed she was gone. The little one had
not been doing so well. It all started on our visit to the Dojo. She really wanted to be part of it but my brother, Jaime, denied it when we realized Kid was a teacher there. And after an incident with Jaime's spines, Feli has been trying to avoid him. She's terrified of her father. I'd hate to think that she would run away one of these days.

I scanned the area around the cabin and could not see her. If I wanted to find her, I'd have to use my enhanced hearing. I breathed in, listening closely to my surroundings. I zoned out the wind, birds, and critters that were about until the soft sound of sniffles reached my ears. I turned towards it and walked slowly so I would not lose the sound. Then I found her, hidden under a tree with her paws covering her mouth. It seemed like she was just finished crying. Her tears had dried. I knelt down to her so he'd know I was there.

"Feliciana... Would you please come out?" I would ask her softly, trying to lure her out. She crawled out of the tiny space and held out her arms to me. I sat down on the dirt path I was in and cradled her. "Nugget, why are you sad? Is there something you want?"

She looked up at me with round, glassy eyes. "I wan go to dojo. Dad say 'No dojo'." I felt her tremble at the mention of Jaime so I held her tighter.

"Aunt Payoma...?"

"Yes?"

"Take me to dojo?"

Her eyes were begging me to say yes. Inside, something told to do so. But Kid, he was there. Could I ignore that? It was as if Feli read my mind because then she'd ask, "Is Y-Yee...Lee bad?"

"Did Mr. Lee look bad to you?"

She shook her head. "He smile. Good gro smile."

I chuckled at her logic. She was still so young. There was no middle, just good and bad. Then I thought about it some more. The day that we visited, I had no idea Lee was Kid. Lee had acted politely, was kind, and was very careful with Feliciana. That was a good gro, not the Kid I knew as a wyngling. I gently petted Feliciana's hair tuff, she was smiling now.

"I will take you. We will both go to see Mr. Lee. But we will keep it a secret from Dad, okay?"

Her face seemed to brighten up in that instant. Her smile was as wide as I had ever seen it. She hugged me as tight as she could without saying anything else. I would keep my promise to her. If making her happy meant I would have to face Kid-Lee again... then I would.
