Jirohei's ears twitched at a sound in a near by bush, while growing Batto, clawed at the dirt, rambling on about something. "Uncle Jiro, did you even listen to a word I just said!" The pup barked in annoyance, but Jirohei just stood and eyed the bush suspisously, letting out a 'hn' of acknowledgement. Just then, a rabbit shot out from the underbrush, and ran through the short grass, diving into another bush, sending Jirohei jumping back in shock. "HAHAHAHAHA!!" Batto howled with laughter as he rolled in the dirt, a growl emitted from Jirohei's open maw, silencing the pup....temporarily. "Tell anyone back at home and I will make sure-" "Alright alright Uncle Jiro! I won't tell anyone, but can we please get back to our training?!" Batto interupted the growling dog, leaping back to his paws he quickly got distracted by a mouse diving into a hole in a nearby dirt mound, and started digging again. Jirohei's ears pricked up as he looked above into the sky, clouds were gathering. 'Why the hell am I so jumpy today?' Jirohei growled to himself, turning his head to look at the very persistent Batto, 'Maybe because my training with this runt will be over soon? He should be getting a new mentor soon...' Pushing the thought to the back of his mind, Jirohei strode over to Batto and barked, "Come on runt! Show me some of that Kai Dog power!" Quickly lifting his head covered in dirt, Batto lowered into a crouch, facing Jirohei, "Alright! Here- I- COME!!" Before the large red tiger dog knew it, the pup was at his neck, attempting to throw him to the ground. "Heh, is that all you got?!" Jirohei mocked, swinging his body around he flung the pup off of him and into a nearby tree, but that did not slow Batto down! He was on his feet in a second, and heading back for Jirohei! Out of the corner of the blonde's eye, he saw a glint of something shiny. Jirohei's mouth opened in warning but it was to late. "BANG!" The sound rang through the dogs ears, Jirohei's eyes widened at the thought of his nephew killed. To his surprise, Batto was crouching on the ground, pressing himself to the dirt, his eyes filled with fear. Blood ran down the front of his coat, thankfully the bullet only grazed his neck. "Batto you need to hide! Stay down near the bushes!" Jirohei ordered the pup, who started heading toward him. "What was that Uncle?!" Batto yiped, panting, his eyes almost looked as if he were about to cry. "I can answer that later, we need to-" Jirohei cut himself short, and the shiny object came back into view, and it was aimed strait back at Batto! "MOVE IT!" Jirohei howled, he leapt at the pup- "BANG!" Another shot echoed through the trees, blood stained the ground Batto once stood. "Uncle Jirohei!" The pup cried out, seeing his beloved uncle on the ground, a gaping hole gushing blood down his side. "You-need to get-out of here!" Jirohei gasped between crackling breathes, but the pup did not move. Shaking, tears rolled down the side of his face, he cried, "NO! I won't leave you!" "You idiot!" Jirohei hissed in pain as he opened his maw, teeth lunging at Batto's leg, "I told you to GET OUT OF HERE!" Teeth clamped around Batto's leg, he pulled the pup to the ground, teeth aimed for his neck fur, he grabbed hold and with all his strength, threw the shocked mutt through the trees. "GO HOME! TELL MY BROTHER-" That is all Batto heard as he landed hard on the ground as thunder cracked up above in the sky. Batto ran blindly through the tree's not looking back, "Uncle Jirohei......WHY?!" Batto cried out in despair as he headed back to his home...... Passage from Chapter ? "A Dark Day In Hokkaido."
