The world around the small gray bird went black for a moment, as he was violently smashed into the hard earth. He gasped loudly as the air quickly escaped his beak. An immense amount of pressure had the bird pinned to the ground, and it was slowly crushing his body as he struggled under the large claws.

"KEKEKEKE"

An annoying clicking assaulted the birds ears, as he let out a pained, annoyed moan. Rey had other much bigger problems to worry about, like, not being able to breathe, but his mind could help to wonder what in the hell that sound was.

"And who are YOU small fry?" a females voice hummed in awe, between the strange clicking sounds her beak was making.

Orange firey eyes snapped open and glared defiantly at the bird that stood above him, one of her large claws was buried in his chest. The large females head was twisted completely upside down and staring at him with hungry yellow eyes.

"SMALL FRY?! WHO ARE YOU CALLING SMALL?!" The much smaller Rey croaked loudly, anger quickly rose in his body as his feathers began to flare.

The female completely ignored Rey and began talking to herself, as her head twitched from side to side, "Are you my snack perhaps? You are too small to be anything but bite sized-"

"LOOK LADY, I AM NOT YOUR SNACK!" Rey snapped, making the owl blink, "AND I AM DEFINITELY NOT SMALL. I AM ACTUALLY QUITE LARGE FOR MY SPECIES THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" He huffed loudly in between gasps, "AND YOU-OOOOHH YOU, YOUR'E JUST RIDICULOUSLY HUGE! AND WHAT THE FLOCK IS UP WITH YOUR HEAD, IS YOUR NECK BROKEN OR IS IT NATURALLY ATTACHED THE WRONG WAY?! AND WHAT IN WORLD IS UP WITH THAT ANNOYING CLICKING??? I-"

The owl stared un-movingly at the bird under foot and he continued to berate her with insults. Her food was never this talkative, ESPECIALLY when they were being crushing by her claws, they mostly just begged for their lives and cried.... It made the female's neck fluff puff in confusion and twist her head back in an upright position as she slowly released her hold on the gray bird.

I had this sitting as a very very veeerrryyy rough sketch in my folder for two weeks or more now, so since I am art blocking so bad, I decided to finish it up! I imagine that Rey's and Athena's first meeting didn't go so well Athena attacked him thinking he was food, and Rey of course, did not take kindly to that
