Description Done.

Believe it or not I do all these steps with every drawing. Really.

I can do this fairly quickly. I’m sure there are people out there that draw faster. But for me the pencil sketch for this one took about 20-25 minutes. And the coloring took a little less than an hour. That’s it.

The download feature is enabled. If you flip between these quickly enough it almost makes a step by step animation.

So thanks for reading my ramble. I’m almost done.

There are a lot of really good artists here on DA. I don’t watch too many, but the ones I do watch I enjoy quite a lot.

Another favorite is Vaughn Bode. Back in the early seventies there was a cartoon called “Cheech Wizard”. Remember that? He’s also done figure drawings in some wild (for the time period) costumes and situations but if you look at ‘em, they’re just basic life study poses. I still have a collection of his drawings.

And Picasso. I had seen a few of his landscapes and thought “Meh…” But then I was at the New York MOMA and saw a figure study he did. Oh man! I just stared at this thing, when I finally was able to crawl away I wanted to go home and burn everything I’d ever done. It was gorgeous, and so simple. It was just a swoop representing a figure (much simpler than my stick figures at the first step) and the rest of the painting was a color study. On the right side was one color group, the other side was a second, and inside the head was a third color group. Oh I just melted.

Grand job with this here. Interesting to see how someone creates their work - something not many would take the time to do.

You have shown me how easy the way I do it is.

Seriously, It's like drawing stick figures compared to this.

Thanks!

Alot of these steps I do without even thinking about them. It was a real challenge to take a drawing apart and see what is going on.

Thanks man, glad you liked it.

The drawing was simple, but the writing and the posting (in reverse order, last drawing first) was tougher than I thought it'd be.

Looks like the effort was worth it.
