This is great! Eรณwyn is one of my favorit characteres from the Lord of the Rings. And too few people draw her. Im glad, you did. It is really good.

cloak = very important moment in the houses of healing. Everyone seems to forget about it.

I think she looks better in your portrait than in the movie. I wasn't happy about the girl they casted for Eowyn.
Love your other submissions too!

Really? I ADORE Miranda Otto! Pete Jackson was always making her play รowyn weaker than she was (crying all the time) and Miranda fought for the few scenes she got where she was a very strong woman.
Shes not how I pictured รowyn exactly (more actually how I would picture Lyra from His Dark Materials when she was grown up. Especially with the jawline) but I think she didnโt a good job and was pretty darn close (I think all the other characters other than Gollum and Aragorn looked NOTHING like they should have I mean where'd they get off maing Legolas BLONDE?)

CasperMarie13 In reply to KatArtIllustrations [2007-12-24 07:17:53 +0000 UTC]
Yeah! I think they just wanted to make Legolas a heart breaker.
Anyways, I think it's bitchin' that Miranda wanted to make Eowyn stronger, I give her props for that. I can definitely see her as Lyra more than Eowyn.
I guess I just imagined Eowyn to look a bit like how I imagine Athena in Greek Mythology... only because she was a warrior. I pictured her with fuller lips too...
I thought they casted Gandalf well.

You do have a good point about Athena. And yeah, if they can find a mini Otto she should have played Lyra
Yes sorry I forgot I also thought Gimli, Saruman and Gandalf were well cast. I was most miffed with Boromir and Faramir though, what part of Raven Hair did they not understand? Dont get me wrong, I thought the boys played the characters VERY well I just dont understand why they didnt make them black wigs but made Legolas a blonde one when ORlando Bloom already had the right haircolour.

They casted them so they looked SO similar! I thought Boramir and Faramir's facial similarities made up for the lack of black hair.
I think they tried to make the elves look as mysterious as possible and decided that Legolas' hair color should blend in with his skin...who knows?

I agree that David Wenham and Sean Bean look alot alike and they did an awesome job with that, but they still would have looked alike with black wigs
Faramir is my fav character this is why I'm STILL in a bit of a hissy over it
Dont get me wrong though, I worship Peter Jackson and WETA Workshop etc etc

Yeah, it sucks when movies ruin your favorite characters. I had this perfect picture of Umbrige in my head, and she was a really vivid character for me, and I thought the movies did her no justice. she needed to be at least 3 X fatter and a little less subtle about her anger.
I agree, they could have died their hair black, problem easily solved.

Yeah she didnt look how I imagined her either, but she still made me just as angery and frustrated. Bellatriz looks nothing like I imagined her but Halena was so so good at being evil!

HELENA!!! She's amazing and so naturally evil. I was very pleased with her acting, even though I pictured bellatrix differently as well.
Spelling is a non-issue. No worries.
I had major bittersweet feeling about the 5th movie, only because they left our my favorite part. I love in the book when McGonnogal verbally takes down Umbrige while she's telling Harry that she will make sure he becomes an auror. It was the first time Umbrige really got told off. I was pissed when they left it out of the movie.

Can I please join you??
Hehe, I agree on everything said on Eowyn.
and Bellatrix Lestrange. I also think, in HP, that hermione was PERFECT in the first and second movie, maybe a tad to pretty with the teeth and all, but now she just doesn't look the part anymore I reckon.

I agree. She's almost a little too glamorous. Everyone at Hogwarts would be drooling over Hermione if she looked that good in the books.
Oh well, I still like Emma Watson, she does play Hermione very well (but sometimes a tad too dramatic)

Yeah I wanted that in it, I hated the Snapes Worst Memory (my fav part of the book) and I missed the samp in the corridor damnit!

I know! They could have easily put a digital swamp in the castle hallways!
Yes, snape's worst memory could have been so much longer! We barely got a glimpse of everyone! A lot of people like the marauders way better than the Trio, they should have at least elaborated on his past a little more.
