Description
For TAFE, (I actually cracked it at the original one of these and threw it out, then I proceeded to redo this in the space of like 3hrs, hence the rushed lookANYHOO we were told to do an acrylic painting to go with a poem of our choice...
So being the Tolkien nerd I am, I chose The Fall of Gil-galad:
The Fall of Gil-galad
Gil-galad was an Elven-king.
Of him the harpers sadly sing:
the last whose realm was fair and free
between the Mountains and the Sea.
His sword was long, his lance was keen,
his shining helm afar was seen;
the countless stars of heaven's field
were mirrored in his silver shield.
But long ago he rode away,
and where he dwelleth none can say;
for into darkness fell his star
in Mordor where the shadows are.
Thankyou so much in advance for your comments, I read every single one of them and appreciate them all even if I dont get a chance to reply to them!

Gotta love the Tolkien!
I like how the outcrop in the center sort of has an eye shape in it and it combines with the shadows to look like war paint or something...very creepy and awesome!

I just gotta say, I'm a big fan of the monster's shadow. It looks kind of like a giant anglerfish.

So much love for the subject, I must say! Also, I really like the color contrast between the blues and the reds.

This is really cool, I love how the shadow shows a bit more than we get to see otherwise. And I love Tolkien, he was absolutely brilliant!
