Don't worry, this isn't bullshit. Although they haven't made an official statement on it, a design revealed by DHX and IDW reveals STARTLING information about not only a legendary G4 character, but additional stuff from G1 brought over to G4 like Tirek

Oh man, when I saw this, and did further research, did it get INTERESTING!

The breezies? That was what some of us thought....but no. Not entirely. Both breezies and flutter ponies do have Earth-mythology roots as fairies....but the thing is breezies are simple pixie-class fairies. Only in groups could they create any serious magic to human/pony-kind.

...but on the other hand, there are also Fairy-folk. These fairies are easily the size of adult humans. Depending on the magic they use or where they come from, they could be as pure looking as Tolkein Elves, or as ugly as trolls like Rumpelstiltskin or worse. But good or evil, they have powerful magic, similar to the magic they used to weaken the Smooze.

The design and change was staggering. Not only was she as powerful as Discord (fitting to someone who could weaken the smooze which not even the Rainbow of Light could defeat alone), but her body was complete, she had butterfly wings, had a horn for magic....she was also OLDER. Older then Celestia. THAT'S why she knew about the unicorn caves that not even Celestia could sense!! (The current storyline doesn't feature her yet, but I expect in a future storyline it will.) It puzzled me to no end...but then I remembered a line from Tolkein, about how Orcs were once Elves tortured and corrupted. That's sure sounds like changlings and their features. So then I looked up research on changlings.

"In some rare cases, the very elderly of the Fairy people would be exchanged in the place of a human baby, and then the old fairy could live in comfort"

Corrupt Fairy people would on rare occasions do this in mythology!! That's what she did with Cadense(older then a baby but young nonetheless). That's why Chysalis looks so young! She had made herself reborn.

Queen Chysalis IS Queen Rosedust, corrupted beyond recognition. That's why the changelings were so vast and overwhelmingly strong that the three tribes were completely overwhelmed with not warning. 

They were the flutterponies returned as changelings.... MAN do I want to hear G4's backstory on them.

I like it better if Queen Chysalis and Queen Rosedust were sisters then being one and the same.

I also made a headcanon that revamp Smooze has use dark magic change the flutter ponies into changelings.

Actually I've had a similar theory about the Smooze. Guess great minds think alike You see, one thing I noticed is that the effects on normal ponies being touched by the Smooze was almost IDENTICAL to that of being Discorded. Just having the stuff on your body was enough to make a earth, pegasi or unicorn pony lose all hope and act aggressive and dispirited. The Smooze was supposed to have been the only weapon against the Rainbow of Light, but the Flutter ponies were able to weaken the Smooze with their magic. On the other hand, how vulnerable are more magical creatures like Flutter Ponies to the Smooze if they came into direct contact? In my opinion, if the human mythology equivalent of flutter ponies are fairy folk and pixies, then corrupted fairies would naturally turn into changelings with more bug-like features. Changelings are basically corrupted fairy-folk in mythology.

My theory is in G4's retold history of G1...

>Celestia and Luna, who's cutie mark's appeared on the tree, were able to summon and use the elements of harmony on Discord, who did not think the elements had enough power to seal him. 

(While he underestimated the elements of harmony, Discord KNEW the Rainbow of Light was powerful enough to wipe Tirek off the map, which is why he told the Mane 6 how to open the box)

So yeah, I have a similar headcanon.


However...Thematically, I don't see the point in making Chyrsalis Rosedust's sister instead of Rosedust herself. Why?

Well, the whole point of having dramatic tension between a protagonist and an antagonist of similar age and a similar backstory is that they once knew each other....but what is really interesting is that they don't recognize each other anymore.

That's the kicker on Chrysalis...she obviously knows stuff from during and before Celestia's time, but unlike all the other villains they've faced before, Celestia seemed completely in the dark about Chrysalis. Why?

Maybe because they both are beyond recognition from when they knew each other? Both in name AND in appearence.

Afterall, who ARE Princess Celestia and Princess Luna anyway? The diary of the two sisters doesn't breath a word about their origins, so who exactly are they? No one officially knows right.....?

It was revealed that in the official comics written and approved by DHX and IDW that Sunset Shimmer, yep the movie villain, is the only person who really knows who Celestia is. How? She found a "forbidden History of Equestria" book that explained HOW Celestia and Luna became Godly Alicorns in the first place, and to do so, one needed to stay in another dimension for a long time then take control of the elements power. Obviously because of her corrupt heart, she failed. Instead of a godly alicorn, she turned into a raging she-demon.

Can you imagine how painful it would be to Celestia if she found out Chysalis and herself were once allies and friends? Chysalis isn't someone who was corrupted Darth Vader-esque by her own repressed hatred, this is someone who willingly sacrificed herself to save Equestria but had no strong ties or friends to hold onto, and when she came back from the corruptive power of the Smooze, her heart had already turned to black and she in her hatred, she learned to become truly evil. The difference between Chysalis and alt-Chysalis is as different as Elsa from Frozen and the White Witch from Chronicles of Narnia. They are both versions of the Snow Queen.

Nice theory

I thought about how revamp Smooze be like how returned too Equestia but he will be like Hexhes from Ferngully the last rain forest. That he was trap inside a tree but was absorb by unlikely Unicorn that was unwere what would do to him ended hurting himself and other around him when he die and horn survie Smooze started to form around the horn making its heart.
