Description
The pills in the glass are prozac, my old anti depressant.I take cipralex now and risperidone now.
If we kept all my old empty ones, we'd have over 100 I bet.
I hate meds, so fucking much.
IN FACT, I DIDN'T TAKE MY CIPRALEX THIS MORNING. C:

I hallucinated and suffered severe psychotic episodes when I was on risperidone.

someday you will be able to get off them without skipping them but in the mean time I'd definitely pass on skipping them

Risperdone is some hard stuff. I was on it for about a year and gained a lot of weight (which was good for me, because I was underweight). I haven't had it for a while now, mostly due to financial issues as well. There were some side effects I didn't like about it but overall it helped...first time in a long while I had an appetite or was able to sleep properly.
How are your college studies affected by the lack of availability to the meds? I find the mood swings associated with my illness have really screwed me over in analytical classes like chemistry. I think I'd concentrate better if I were still on the (expensive) medications... :\

Yeah, I noticed the weight gain, which is bad because I'm not skinny to begin with, but it does seem to help.
I'm in highschool, so their working around my problems. Like in math, I go to a seperate room by myself.

Haa, well ignore that last part, I read another user's response to the original picture. What I meant to ask instead was how do you think the medications BENEFIT you?

There needs to be like... a super fav feature... because I would use it for this...
I hate my meds too... but in May I won't be able to afford them anymore so I might as well take them while I still can...

I'm losing my insurance when I graduate from college and my mom doesn't want me to be on meds so I'm "not allowed" to use her's to pay for it... and my dad is unemployed and is under my mom's... I'm gonna need to find a job real fast so I can start paying for them again know any dentists hiring in Connecticut? lol

I agree with Caity-Kitten - most pictures with pills show overdose and suicide. That's getting a lil old. The way your did your shot is just fab =]
I accidentally missed my previous psychiatrist appointment. The next available slot is in three weeks =\ I may go on Prozac. I've got light therapy for the time being though.

Yeah, I was trying to steer away from the overdose and suicide cliche, but still so it had an impact. I'm glad that it worked, thank you. <3
I've missed the last six of mine because of the psychiatrist cancelling, or bad weather. Prozac worked for a while for me, but then I grew immune to it and had to switch, but cipralex really worked for me.

Yep, fab job =]
Whoa, not a very reliable psychiatrist there. How did you feel before starting the Prozac? Part of me thinks I'll be fine without meds, but part of me wants to try it too.

Before the prozac I was a huge mess, depression at it's worst.
It never hurts to try, but only if you think you need it.

please have a look at my prozac picture!
[link]
I feel the same way, another day another pill... I still take prozac, but I have probably been prescribed 100s of things while my different therapists were trying to figure out "what's wrong with me"
The pic that I gave the link to was from a series I did entitled "Psychotic Episode" it is supposed to show that sometime medicating a person too much can cause even more of a break...
I love what you did here, very nice... I feel that we are a very over-medicated world and you did an excellent job capturing that here! Nice work, it!

I'll check it out! (:
And yeah, medication is basically a quick fix, take a pill each day to make you happy. Makes you wonder how people coped before all of the medication.
I hope the prozac works for you, and thank you. <3

Caity-Kitten [2010-03-04 02:32:16 +0000 UTC]
I liek this, to me it's impacting because everytime I pull my meds out I ahve this feeling that people are wondering what their for. This really depicts a part of mental illness ina new way. People often use images as these to display things like overdose adn suicide while they are a common part of mental illness and should be shoown that way so people understand they are not something bad. Very nice photo.

Be careful with skipping the meds... That can have bad side effects.
I really like your pic. The tealish color of the pills is especially eye-catching.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't skip them. I'm on them for a reason, so I should stay on them.
And thank you, it means a lot <3
