Description Another one of these guys,

Next is Hexapteryx Archeophis. (Names aren't very consistent at this time, pay no heed) This guy is a little further along the line in terms of flight development. His middle limb set is being relegated to primary wing duty, and his forearms are taking on climbing. The tail is looking a little prehensile as well, and his body is overall more mammalian in structure. His larger teeth suggest he's tackling fleshier prey.

Just wondering, what's the general opinion on the yellowish colour from the paper, looks good or is greyscale preferred?

I like the sepia-thing you have going on here, it really suits the dragon!

I like your take on the evolution of dragons. You make it seem quite plausible that a dragon could evolve- all we need to do is relocate one of these little guys to an alien planet, and we can have a dragon-like creature in a SF setting. Greyscale is nice, but the yellowish color does help a bit with the three-dimensional effect. If you have a sketchpad with yellowish paper, you can try using a white colored pencil for highlights. Some other artists do that, and it looks pretty nice.

I love this guy.. especially the thickness and poise of the middle outer joints for stability. I'm a fanatic for good anatomy, and this little creature is very well designed. Great job.

Either paper choice is fine, I think that the yellowish lends more towards an encyclopedic look.

How beautiful! You're an incredible artist.
Also, you're good at naming these creatures. I can't come up with a scientific name to save my life.

This is beautiful. I love the detail. I didn't even notice the different paper colour until you mentioned it. I like it personally. I think greyscale would be less 3D and real, but as I said I didn't even notice the change so I might not be the best judge.

Oh my, this is so wonderfully detailed and original! This reminds me of a combination of Cameron's Thanator and a book-style of dragon I once saw called a Mongolian Howler. You have an incredible imagination to envision such a fantastic creature and incredibly skilled hands to bring it to life like this?

If the yellowish colour is what you're using now, then please by all means keep it this way. I think if you switched it to something more stark like a grayscale that it might lose some of its natural texture. If this pictured is grayscale then I would definitely be curious to see the original yellow . . . I am still just in awe.

Wonderful job!

The hint of color makes it easier on the eyes than straight black/white would be. It also gives just a nice touch of ambiance, like it's a slightly light-decayed page from an old journal. I say keep it.
