Hi,
1) She was not at all controlling his life, prior to Soos breaking it off with her. He chose to spend all his time in the basement, and he was happy there. We've also seen that Giffany can move between monitors and follow him to the mall, so it would have been possible for him to go about his daily life with her by his side had he chosen to do that.
2) Relationships do not have to end in marriage. A wedding certificate is just a piece of paper, and two people do not have to be legally bound in order to spend their lives together. There are many places where queer couples can't get married. Does that mean a queer relationship isn't worth pursuing?
3) Again, relationships do not have to end in kids. Is an infertile woman undeserving of love? Can someone who's had a vasectomy not get married? Besides, there are alternatives to traditional means of having children; if it were really an issue he could adopt a child or program one into the game.

... I don't think you realize that no one can be with a video game character. Think about it, she got upset when he went to go be with Dipper and Mabel. She had been returned 2 other times, does that mean that Soos had to be the one. What about the other guys? Do they not count, maybe they saw how controlling she could be or how they didn't want to be with her.
No I'm not saying marriage has to end in kids and every relationship had to end in marriage. I am in fact bisexual so I know that if I choose to marry a women if I want to get married it won't end in kids unless we adopt or have someone donate sperm. I'm just saying his grandmother wanted him to be happy and have life with someone that he could be with when she was gone. What if he wanted to go for a walk in the park with a girlfriend, would he have to carry around a computer, TV, or arcade game? If you found a boyfriend/girlfriend simulator and they turned out like this, would you just reject every other human who you could have a relationship with? What if you got fired from your job, became sick, or didn't get enough sun? You would sit on your butt all day in front of a computer screen. What type of life is that?
I don't know about you but I want to walk in the park with someone and hold their hand, be able to share food, wake up next to someone. Have human contact. Is their anything wrong with wanting human contact. It just wasn't meant to be. Yah in a cartoon maybe it could work, but real life it couldn't.

Because Dipper and Mabel specifically took Soos to meet other women with the intent of convincing him to leave Giffany. I think it's pretty natural for her to be upset by that.

I can't really tell what your point is here. Are you trying to suggest that the fact that Giffany had previous relationships that didn't work out somehow means she didn't really love Soos? Because most people in real life go through multiple relationships and I don't see why that would lessen the value of a current one.

I'm not really understanding why you think Giffany doesn't meet those qualifications. Was he not happy with her?

Or, like, a mobile phone. I feel like that's not unreasonable. Why is their ability to walk in the park together reflective of their ability to have a relationship anyway?

If you mean a romantic relationship, then yeah, that's usually what you do when you're in a monogamous romantic relationship with one person. If you're just talking about platonic relationships (friends, coworkers, family, etc) I don't think those things would be a problem for Giffany. The only reason she didn't want Soos spending time with Dipper, Mabel, and Melody was because they were trying to sabotage her relationship with him.

First of all, if Soos was happy sitting on his butt in front of a computer all day, I don't see why it's unacceptable for him to do that. But disregarding that, as I've already stated, Giffany can follow him around on various devices, so it would be completely possible for him to live a more socially acceptable,"normal" life if he wanted to.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with wanting that, but it's weird to me that you assume everyone wants the same thing that you do in a relationship. The episode ends with Soos entering a long distance relationship with Melody, so there wouldn't be physical contact there either; does that make their relationship not valid?
I think what's really happening here is that you have an idea of what a "normal" relationship "should" be, so you're assuming that anything different from that is not valid without really examining why you think relationships "should" be a certain way in the first place. As long as Soos and Giffany could be happy together, does anything else really matter?

Couldn't you just have left MY opinion alone. Then if you did and ignored it you wouldn't have to fight so much against it. I clearly know your opinion. As part of being an artist on here sometimes you have to learn to just ignore the things you dislike. I only respond because you won't leave it be and therefore I will not stop till you leave it.

I'm a little confused now. If you didn't want to have this discussion with me in the first place, why make the original comment? What's the point of responding to my art with a dissenting viewpoint if not to initiate discussion? You made a comment on my post arguing with my views, so I responded. I don't feel like that was out of line.
I'm also confused by you talking about this discussion like it's a "fight" that could have been avoided. I actually really enjoy these kinds of debates. I'm going to continue to respond because I'm having fun. If you're not having fun, I don't know why you're still posting here.

My whole argument is that Soos totally can be with a video game character, so if that's not you telling me I'm wrong I don't know what it is.
But that's how these things work. We have dissenting views, so we're having a debate. We're not "bashing" each other's opinions, we're challenging them by making each other defend our arguments with reasoning. It's an intellectual exercise to see if our opinions hold up. It's fun. Maybe if either one of us had started name calling or resorting to "your opinion is STUPID and SO ARE YOU" arguments it would fall in line with what you're describing, but all I'm seeing is civil debate here.
