I like to imagine that Giffany isn't completely gone.

Like that her CD remains were scraped off the oven by a disgruntled employee of the restaurant, and he placed the dustpan on the ledge over the counter as he went to do something else.

Then another employee bumps against the wall when walking through the doorway, causing the dustpan to fall onto one of those counter top outlets.

The CD remains get electrified by the outlet, and a small surge goes through the second outlet and into a small TV on the counter.

The TV turns on and goes all fuzzy for a few moments before Giffany's face flashes onscreen for a split second.

So now her consciousness can exist without the CD, but her powers are limited for he time being, so it'll be some time before she makes her full return; but she has no problem with waiting...
