mmmmkay.so I'm reading Howls Moving Caslte thanks to THE LOVE OF MY LIFE ( ~breathingfiction )
and I absolutely love it!
..so here are some character doodles... we have Howl in his fantastical blue suit (okay I'm not going to lie, one of the resasons I love the book is because they use the word "fantastical" and "botheration") and theres micheal, all inlove-like, and Calcifur, and.. yeah thats grandma sophie in the bottom.
thoughts so far:
..I think its funny that they turned micheal from a fifteen year old in love to like a.. five year old in the movie!
I love what a JERK howl is! I love CALCIFUR (I want calcifur to be my BFF.) and I obviously loved the hair dying incident.
PS, will scrap this soon.. in favour of some much better, much more COMPLETED howls moving castle artwork.

god, i am in love with this story right now. I just read the book a few nights ago. I think my favorite thing about it was Howls shirts. And what Sofie does to them. It's because of Sofie that Howl goes all emo and ruins his blue shirt, and Sofie also cuts up his blue shirt, but then it's because of Sofie that his red/black on is enchanted and Sofie ends up cutting that one to bits too. Some cleaning lady she is. no, i loves sofie. lol.

I loev that book too, trust me, NO-ONE LOVES THAT BOOK ~MORE THAN ME. I'm drawing the charectors all the time i just can't help msyelf and i LOVE your calcifer.
I'm glad everyone else seems to think Sophie's hair is red because in Castle in the Air it says 'She was as fair asLettie was dark but otherwise quite like her' (yes i'm so sad i practically know the books off by heart) anyway that confused me but i'll just go on assuming it's red then.

About what somone up above me said, the big difference between the book and the movie is that the book is better.

Yeah, it is. It's a great story too. Mostly because it has the characters from the first book in it. lol

This is a really spiffy little bit of doodles. I love how you portrayed Clalcifer.
Sometimes I think I like Howl's attitude in the book moreso than the movie XD

OMG! I really loved that movie! Parts of it I was slightly offended by because I thought they could have done a better job (the voice actor's faults though I would imagine) BUT
There is literature for this?! Who is the author

In case you were still wondering, the book is by Diana Wynne Jones. Her writing style is nothing short of delightful. Be warned, that it's got some big differences from the movie, but it's a satisfying read nonetheless.
