this is an odd association but this reminds me of one of the superman movies (one of the ones with christopher reeve...he was someone i respected so much...his autobiography is very moving). there is a part at the beginning that has villains trapped in another dimension and the villains looked very much like this, their faces were suspended in space.
oops! silly ramble.
the thing t hat really makes me think is the areas around the faces, wondering what that is and what it means. i think it's scar tissue, perhaps they're triplets! the scar tissue part makes the composition perfect!
