Description EDIT: Changed to add the gist of the ficlet. I think it looks better this way.

Matsuda gets no love. He's like one of those big, goofy puppies that drags in god-knows-what and then sits next to it wagging its tail with pride. No, that is not meant as an analogy. Put those sharp pointy things away, Gundam fans.

I had a ficlet to go with this piece, but it really stands better alone.

Well, to be honest, I didn't either. I was searching for 'Kira' on Wikipedia and it mentioned that it was a transliteration of 'killer', then cited Kira Yamato as another example. After that, I /had/ to draw it.

lol! You know, when discussing DN with my sister, I kept either saying "Kira" when I meant to say "Light" (not that there's really a difference), or picturing Kira Yamato instead of Light...

Didn't know somebody else thought of this.
A Good, clever idea for an image, the drawing is also cute. Death note is a wonderfully written series and while I prefer L and Light I do like matsuda quite a bit.
Even in my love of the Gundam franchise I detest kira yamato, the fact he's suffering in this image makes me very happy.

Thanks! L's my favourite, Near and Mello just can't fill his shoes. I like Matsuda because he's just an average goofy guy stuck with a lot of experienced detectives and geniuses. And yes, I dislike Kira too.

Thanks! Watch it, it's a really great series - and the (evil) main character is voiced by Mamoru Miyano, who plays Tamaki. And his evil sidekick who turns up near the end is voiced by Kyouya's voice actor.

Yeah. Light, the evil smart guy (plus mad writing machine. How do you think he writes all those names!?) and L the cake-loving detective...I kinda know the basics. But I didn't know Mamoru and Masaya voiced the characters! Hehe. Thanks for the info.

I tried looking at YouTube before...but sadly, the episodes are kinda incomplete...It makes me so sad. The first episode left me wanting for more. *cries*

Masaya doesn't voice L, Kappei Yamaguchi (AKA Inuyasha, of all people) does. Masaya voices Mikami, an uptight lawyer dude who also gains the crazy calligraphy powers. (And is extremely hot. Or maybe that's just me. )
Try animecasting.com, or possibly crunchyroll. Animecasting has the first 30 eps, and there's only 31 out so far so that's fairly up to date.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Matsuda. He's goofy and amusing and has perfectly normal intelligence. He just happens to hang out with super-geniuses and experienced, hardened detectives, which makes him look...well...dumb.
