Description Yay, my second tutorial!

A few people have asked me how I do my watermarks. It's actually a really simple technique, but I tend to over-explain things. Really, once you have the brush or text made, it takes all of two seconds to stick a watermark on this way.

Anywho, enjoy. I hope it works for everyone, and if there are parts that are unclear I'll be glad to explain in more detail.

An excellent idea, didn't think to create a brush out of it, saves time instead of redrawing it.

You're welcome! The loopy fancy text is 'Scriptina' if memory serves.

I like this! Easy to use and understand...and I now can make a brush! I also like the text part because it's a simple way to get around my older version of PS (I found a good tutorial...but it required CS -.-' I need to get that...)

I shall have to use this now!

Thank you for making this tutoral its very helpful but im new to photoshop and im unsure how i would put it on my picture. I made my watermark and saved it as a brush already. Do you mind telling me? Thanks

AriaFawn [2007-09-12 22:25:06 +0000 UTC]

What an excellent idea to make it as a brush...I am one of the copy and pasters but that is due to a program I use that does not have a brush option and luckily my ancient watermark design usually comes out okay in the end. Hopefully lots of people make use of this, I think watermarks are wonderful because they still show your personality and state that the piece is your's. Wonderful tutorial.

Katolin In reply to AriaFawn [2007-09-13 01:43:21 +0000 UTC]

Having it as a brush is a handy shortcut, but at least it still works fine to copy-paste a watermark! And watermarks can actually be really nice and fun to design. I wanted to submit this as an alternative to the DA watermark as well as to just show a fun technique. Glad you like the tutorial!

XD

Katolin In reply to Blue-Storm-Spirit [2007-09-11 02:39:18 +0000 UTC]

Hehe! I find it's handier than trying to copy-paste a watermark image saved on another canvas. Plus, it's so much easier to mess with different colors and opacities using a brush.

Katolin In reply to Neio6 [2007-09-10 23:42:35 +0000 UTC]

It should work in GIMP, I would think. I haven't tried GIMP before, but it should work in any art program that supports transparency and layers.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LiquidCandyRainbow In reply to Katolin [2009-01-16 07:25:17 +0000 UTC]

It will work in Giimp. I've used Gimp before I got Photoshop and I used to watermark using it all the time.
