Description
A leopard dude, quietly trailing the owner of that feather through a steamy equatorial forest. Something older, from 2002. At the time this was the most complicated digital painting I'd ever done. It's definately still among them, though I've learned a few things since then - and upgraded my hardware such that it's much less of a pain! (Photoshop was never too happy on my old Mac PPC/G3...)Related content

Aah! (high-pitched squeel) He's just like the Sisters! [link] ^_^
Advanced critique... erm... Well, here's one: don't do the outline for the feather; just leave it as whispy strands coming off a stem. That might look neat.
Another: It looks like the bamboo is going into that stone arrow, but more likely, the stone would be tied to the end of the bamboo, tied tight on the side, rather than the bamboo going in. *nod*
Besides that, there really isn't any necessary critique that I think I should point out.
Oh, wait, yes there is. Final critique: draw my Sisters ^_^ They're so very special to me. Other people might say they're "my characters," but I didn't make them; I met them. To me, they're not "my characters"--they're my friends.

i really like the detail, situation, distance and the lighting. the only critique i could give would probably to make the arms a little leaner near the shoulders and the upper under arm.

I really love this, the shading and light scatter is absolutely beautiful...the only problem I have is..uh, you sure its not a jaguar and not a leopard? Only because of the rosettes (leopards and jaguar both have rosettes, but only jaguar have spots in the darker rosettes)...but I'm just picky and stuff when it comes to animals, thats all, so..I'm sorry if I said anything bad.
But again, beautiful piece!

First of all, the colouring is simply gorgeous! I love the desaturated tones; unusual for a jungle scene, but it works really well! It's also interesting to see how your style of painting has developed/changed over the years, too! :>

Oh, this is beautiful. The way the shading is so dappled like that on the leopard man is perfect. It looks very realistic. The whole image has a very soft look to it that I like a lot. Just the way it blends together is very nice.

Gourgeous! The lightning is very good, though I think the leopard could have more "light spots". but that's ok. The painting is marvelous, I could never do something like this in my present stage
Also, about the bamboos far away: what are they doing there? I mean, there are a few big trees and some bamboos, but an equatorial rainforest would have trees all brunched together. Just a detail; I doesn't affect the beaty of the work

This is really nice. Like the environment a lot. I'm at work right now and this monitor is shit, so I will not comment on the colours.
Critique: The first thing that comes to mind is that the picture is very well composed. The space between things is executed nicely. It's just two things that sticks out. He's/She's right ear is not in the right place. The shape and texture is great but it should be place more on top of the head. The other thing is just a personal thought. I think you should soften the outline around the head, like you've done with the rest of the body. If you soften it, I think, will make him/she disappear more easily. He/She is hiding and therefore I think it would look even better if he/she melts in will help the beholder to see your intension.
Have to say that it's a great piece once more. Hope my comments will help you.

I love the detail on the undergrowth and the dappled light on his shoulders. Also the quality of the colors looking like watercolor but being so thick and vibrant is quite nice.

Wow, that's beautiful.
The pose and attitude are spot-on, the colouring and lighting so well done... I'm not sure about the angling of the background, but the foreground leafy plants are beautiful, and so well realised!

A few years old? This is incredible! Everything is so clean, and yet a little loose all at once. I love the light falling through the trees far in the distance, where everything is almost white. And the light falling on the leopard... he stands out so well.
Gah, you're still my idol.

Hm, even though toshers said the jungle doesn't really look like that, I believe it gives an added, foreign effect. They're right, it doesn't,m in thsi world. but this world isn't full of two-legged leopards.
Good balance, adding the trees on the left side's background keeps the picture interesting and beautiful, but doesn't take away from the leopard tracker, as well as adding a nice sence of depth. The ground cover does the same - you even added the slight bending of the stalks to meld the leopard into the picture. and the lighting - gorgeous. Perfect tone, it isn't too disbelievable or too bright.
Well done.

Nice lighting, and I do think it's really well done. But jungle doesn't really look like that....Still major kudos for dappled light, it works really well.
