I'm a reptile geek.This 'un is real media... ink, tria marker, colored pencil and a it of paint on 8x10 bristol board.
For those who don't get it, snaked don't have ears; they 'hear' by feeling vibrations in their bodies!

When i first seen the thumbnail to this pic, I thaught it was a snake with retactable tenticals. That could be your next idea picture.

Haha, that's a neat way to show the concept. I love the bright green, his belly is such a gorgeous chartreuse, and the texture on his back gives him a lot of depth. If I had to have a reptile, he would so be it.

Technically you're right, but snakes DO have ears, as far as I remember. They're just inside their heads without any kind of connection to the outside.
That is one very pretty snake though.
