Whoops, interrupting my inactivity streak again! This is my character for the Lost and Found OCT, [link]
You will, hopefully, be seeing a lot more of these two.

I am leaving the spider character, Saut, in mystery because he will be introduced and described in my audition, assuming the group accepts this visual reference. If they should need the information immediately, I'd be happy to shed light on the subject in privacy. He will not be directly involved in round entries.

Character Profile

Name:
Eble of Rauvl
(EHB-lee of RA-vul)
Simply Eble; Rauvl names her particular mischief, or pack.

Age:
10 months, or 27 human years.

Gender:
Female.

Species:
Common black rat (rattus rattus).

What was stolen:
Her mischief. Her entire family, gone, overnight.

Abilities:
Knotting and climbing, to the point where she can easily scale walls and cross barriers other rats would not be able to, employing the use of her braided line and fishhook as a type of grappling hook. She can also use this line in battle to deter enemies, as a temporary rope, and as a multi-tool.

Physical Strengths:
As a typical rat, she is quick and agile, with sensitive balancing abilities and a tough bite. Her hearing is astute, her sense of smell exemplary. She is, by nature, constantly aware of her surroundings. She can squeeze through the smallest of spaces with ease.

Physical Weaknesses:
Eyesight is very poor. While she prefers to stand on two feet while idle, working or concentrated, she can only walk or run on all fours. She sneezes regularly, affected by a chronic cold.

Height Length/Weight:
180mm body, 340mm total; 150g.

Personality:
Being one of the more clever members in her society (where self-awareness, an ability to use tools and understand environmental patterns and signs means the difference between life and death), she tends to overestimate her abilities. While not necessarily 'book smart,' Eble is curious, creative and perceptive. She is proud of the fact that she found and created her hook and line contraption all on her own, from braiding the monofilament fishing thread [created by humans, though she is not aware of this] and tying on the silver hook to creating a [butterfly knot] harness on her back so she could carry it with her wherever she went.
Because she can be somewhat arrogant, she reads too much into things, overlooking minor details and then becoming frustrated, accusing herself of simply not being smart enough to overcome obstacles when she knows there should be a simple solution hiding in plain sight. Low self-esteem isn't a named concept in her world, but she is wracked with it. She will create a mask of hot-hotheadedness and conceit when feeling emotionally threatened to reassure herself and to convince or alienate others.
Other personality notes include a strong sense of family and honor. She makes friends easily, but uses others to her advantage if they don't prove a match for her. This is not in cold-blood - it is practical. She means well, and while she might exploit someone for their talents or smarts or lack thereof, she will not harm them or force them into emotionally compromising situations. While she will make it well known that she is the one responsible, she will always share her discoveries with her mischief. Eble will keep her promises and betrayal isn't an option - she can not be bribed. She is very uncomfortable when alone, and will protect her packmates (but not to the death - her sense of self-preservation is the only thing stronger than her family bonds).

History:
Born to a typical couple, whom she keeps regular contact with. Gave birth to a single litter of 9 two months prior to missing her mischief. There were 5 males and 4 females, all of which were reared successfully with the father, whom she still maintains a tight bond with. Not long afterwards, she created her line and hook and was (self)employed as a scout, lookout and protector for her nomadic pack, which was (at the beginning of the story), moving from home to home.

Likes:
Her family, traveling, small, enclosed spaces, sleeping piles, climbing and exploring, showing off, fruits, nuts and eggs, preening, feeling loved, feeling needed.

Dislikes:
Swimming, fighting, birds and predators, rain and wet conditions, strong odors, even if pleasant, surprises.

Other:
The fluffy mane around her neck is common in many of the rats in her mischief, probably due to their northern location. It is thicker than a usual rat's, but not waterproof.
