OH. MY GOODNESS. I AM SO PROUD OF THIS, YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA.I wanted to give the members of TFS a fun drawing, as a thank you for all the laughs, at Youmacon this year. I had this idea REALLY solid in my head, and while I knew it was going to be a very ambitious undertaking, as I'd never done a drawing this complex before, I was all excited to do it.
I started working on this in JULY. No exaggeration. Once September hit, I was working on it constantly. Once October hit, I was working on it nearly every day. It was stressful. I wasn't sure if I could finish it in time. But it was also a LOT of fun...and unbelievably rewarding. I am nowhere near the skill level of people like =birdewilliams and ~kirapop but I could see myself improve as I went through sketching, lineart, color and shading. The shading especially was a style I'd never tried before and it worked better than my normal attempts!
Thus, I am extremely proud of this. It's the best piece I've done by hand to date. I got a bunch of copies printed today that I will give to every TFS member this weekend, and I'm so excited

I'm not fond of the funny stuff or anything that teases DBZ myself... but Zarbon and Dodoria are my two favorite characters overall in the entire series.

This style of shading works REALLY well for you. 3-dimensionality is clear, and yet you didn't have to agonize over precise depths of shadow and highlight. ^^ And the background turned out exactly how I imagined it when you described it!
