I actually like him better without the wingy parts ... like the line art looks with just the spikes for the wings. But I love the rest of the colouring job!

Thanks for the in depth feedback! The wings will actually only really show when in flight. At other times they might act as extra arms with claws or cannons on the end. So I think you should enjoy this character. I just thought with a character named fireFLY, for this introductory shot, it would be good to show wings hence the capability to FLY

My first response would be "why not?". Then I'd say, every winged character has just two wings so I wanted to change that up a bit. And Lastly, with four wings he could still fly with just two and use the other two as blasters or swords etc.

Thing to think about, a firefly DOES have two sets of wings, one shell and one for flying. Maybe it might be more natural looking for him to mimic that. Otherwise, why not, because of practicality since one set looks liable to get tangled with the other. Either that or think about modeling creatures in nature that really do have two sets of wings, like dragon flies. Just a thought.
