Description
Without anyone else,Even paradise can be lonely.
This image is dedicated to all my friends and all of you folks that are going to college soon. Today a number of my friends that I knew from seventh grade left for college... its a sad time. In a few weeks I leave as well, I leave Hawai'i, a place that I will never forget and always remember. It just goes to show, man is nothing without his/her friends and family. I know I will eventually return to these islands, but the thought of traveling thousands of miles away and leaving people who I quite frankly might NEVER see again is depressing. SO here is my photo, a photo about beauty mixed with a strange melancholy sadness. Maybe these tree trunks will find comfort in their seemingly desolate paradise existence, maybe I might find comfort in knowing that I can always return home. Return.
Technical
D70
Nikkor 20mm 2.8AFD <----- an awesome lens that I highly recommend!
A little bit of sadness
A lot of hope
Waimanalo Beach, Oahu
I hope you all return to the places and people you love. Peace. :mosaic:

this photo is so beautiful. the first thing i noticed is the one branched trunk a short distance away from the three-branched trunk. it looked so much like one man standing slightly apart from three friends who are joined together in a journey and will leave him behind. and even though there is a distance between them, it's a close one, as if they dont want to move away or as if there is something that will always keep them together. i know i;m rambling on a bit but i havent had much sleep, but this piece, as well as your comment made this image in my mind.

If you were standing in front of me i'd kiss you. You got EXACTLY WHAT I was trying to accomplish with the tree trunks, the emotional mix of perfect setting in the background, yet slightly off and melancholy foreground. You get a HIGH FIVE for sure... *5* thanks for understanding, it really means a lot to me when an audience can get what i was trying to shoot for in my mind.. thank you, you made me day wonderful!

yay! i get a kiss from a hawaiian! you have made one of my many dreams come true! the other one is to actually see hawaii and learn how to surf. my part australianism means i'm genetically inclined to be extremely laid back, suntan recklessly, wear minimum clothing and grin all day. oh , and surf.
