Description
Without anyone else,Even paradise can be lonely.
This image is dedicated to all my friends and all of you folks that are going to college soon. Today a number of my friends that I knew from seventh grade left for college... its a sad time. In a few weeks I leave as well, I leave Hawai'i, a place that I will never forget and always remember. It just goes to show, man is nothing without his/her friends and family. I know I will eventually return to these islands, but the thought of traveling thousands of miles away and leaving people who I quite frankly might NEVER see again is depressing. SO here is my photo, a photo about beauty mixed with a strange melancholy sadness. Maybe these tree trunks will find comfort in their seemingly desolate paradise existence, maybe I might find comfort in knowing that I can always return home. Return.
Technical

Nikkor 20mm 2.8AFD <----- an awesome lens that I highly recommend!
A little bit of sadness
A lot of hope
Waimanalo Beach, Oahu
I hope you all return to the places and people you love. Peace. :mosaic:

Simple, graceful, sad. It's funny, you know, the first thing I thought when I looked at this was how pretty it was, and yet I had no interest in going to such a place. There's nothing really there.
I hope you make lots of friends to fill the loneliness in your heart, and that your eventual return to Hawaii is triumphant!

although sad... i completly understand your meaning behind this and its brilliant, you've captured it so perfectly too! I have experienced a similar thing a few years ago, and things will be good, don't worry about it, as you say and as I do you can always return home

It's difficult to say more that what BlessGirl has said already. It is her interpretation, but I too interpret a sense of loneliness, desolation counterbalanced with unity and beauty. It's quite amazing to get this type of emotional response from an image, which of course goes to say how talented you are. I also can relate on a deep level with what you write, having experienced it not long ago. Best of wishes on your travels and creative process.

Brilliant shot, Love the way the Trees almost Frame the ocean....very lonely shot aswell you really bought the message across wonderfully. I also like the way the way the branch on the right is so dark like that, Sorta depressing which once again brings the feeling of lonliness across, Composition is also brilliant!! Wonderful...

This picture is one of those simple, yet extremely extravagent pictures! I love the colors, as they make you feel as if you were on a beach laying in the sun as this picture is. The dead trees give to the effect of beach front, as well as the sand and water for obvious reasons. The color of the sky is just great! did you use a polarizer for the effect, or did occur like that naturally?
Anywho this is an ecvellent shot!! Keep up the great work!

I stupidly forgot my camera bag w/ the circular pol. in the car *slaps forehead*, but in this case the wide angled prime lens I had and the low lying sun made up for it...
