Pfft, this sort of thing happened with my brother and me a few years ago. We're eleven years apart from each other. We were getting a fishing pole re-spooled and the guy said "You go fishing with your son often?" I smirked and said: "Sure do! We go to the lake all the time, right dad?" He later elbowed me and called me a dork. Haha.

whenever i'm with my littlest brother (8) people sometimes ask if he's my son O_O
i'm nearly 10yrs older than him......
then there was the time when people thought i was twins with my older brother.

This happens with my sister and I a lot, as well (I'm female). I suppose it doesn't help that we're demonstratively affectionate of each other, and call each other "dear" and "hon". (I'm from the Southern US. Everyone is "dear" and "hon".) We both find it amusing, and sometimes even play it up a little bit. You think we're a couple? Here comes the hand-holding and the laughing. It makes the cashier or waiter or whatever more and more uncomfortable while they try and figure out if we're *gasp* gay (again, Southern US, homophobia capital of the world), which makes it all the more amusing.

O_o; I used to get this... when walking with my mom. .____.; My family doesn't seem to age quickly, and I was blonde as a teen. I dye my hair darker colors and my mom's 40 now so some greying hairs are showing so people can tell.Β

I never got that w/ my brothers (we looked too much alike - obvious we were siblings) but happened almost all the time w/ my male cousins - they were clingy and protective in my youth so we often looked 'together'. Awkward much. lol

A teacher at my brothers and my school thought we where dating for a semester and a half until I showed up with mom for parent teacher conferences. Β The worst part was that he had both of us in his class me for the first semester and my brother for the half, and we never let him forget it by being twinsey until we graduatedΒ .
