Description
I chose these six over the regular background six for two main reasons. A, I wanted them to be two earth, two Pegasus, two unicorn, and B, I wasn't sure how well Lyra's, Octavia's and Vinyl's cutie marks would transelate into Elements. So, for your convince, here is a handy list.
Element of Magic- Minuette/Colgate
Element of Laughter- Derpy
Element of Kindness- Lemon Hearts
Element of Loyalty- Raindrops
Element of Honesty- Golden Harvest/Carrot Top
Element of Generosity- Bonbon

Huh, not often one sees Raindrops in group ups like this, even less so Lemon Hearts. I approve.
...although this team does have an awful lot of yellow-coated ponies.

Oh, you're right. A bit heavy on the yellow. Oops. And as for Raindrops and Lemon Hearts... I just couldn't figure out how to draw Octavia's, Vinyl Scratch's, or Lyra's Cutie Marks as elements. Plus I wanted an even spread and all girls, so I just added my two favorite obscure-ish background ponies to the mix.

That makes sense. Lemon Hearts is a longstanding personal favorite of mine too, mostly for being one of my first blind bags. I even wrote her into a fanfiction.
Raindrops wasn't really ever on my radar at all though, that is until I read another author's AU fanfiction, after which at least that take on her became a favorite as well. Actually that's sort of how I ended up stumbling across your pic here. That AU also includes Derpy and Carrot Top, while from the thumbnail your Minuette was easily mistaken for Trixie since they both have blue coats, so I very briefly mistook it for fanart of that series. Which is not to say I was disappointed, as I always enjoy seeing other people's takes on AU harmonious teams.
...plus again, it was a very pleasant surprise to find Lemon Hearts, since no one really ever seems to use her for much of anything anywhere.

Glad to find another Lemon Hearts lover. I don't know why, but she's one of my favorites. What is the name of this Fanfiction you speak of?

Well, it all started with a fic titled Boast Busted (by RainbowDoubleDash ), a sort what if variation on the actual episode "Boast Busters" where in Twilight and Trixie trade roles.
From there though, it's actually grown into a full AU setting with lots of fics collectively known as The Lunaverse , so named because it's built off the premise that 1000 years ago it was Celestia that went mad with power and Luna was the one who had to banish her to the sun. Then because Luna is a different kind of princess, she ends up choosing a different apprentice (Trixie). Then in turn, because she is a different pony then Twilight, Trixie makes a different set of friends (Carrot Top, Cheerillee, Dizty Doo, Lyra, and Raindrops). And then of course because all of them are different ponies from the show, they have different adventures. Other familiar characters are still around, but likewise taking on different roles as well.
I'm actually one of the group's contributing authors, as well as occasional "artist". Though as my drawing skills suck, I more so just compile vector collages, often for cover-arts to my own and some of the other group members' stories.
