Description
Silverbolt rapidly transformed into his root mode; he desperately hoped his robot form would better absorb the impact of the crash, before he collided heavily with the solid earth. He didn’t have a moment to process what had just occurred before the distinct sound of armour shifting and settling into a new form interrupted his thoughts. His entire frame tensed, and he scrambled from his position on the ground to turn and face the approaching figures.

Lightning crackled ominously across the blackened sky, the flash illuminated the clouds as they rolled in. Through dust coated optics, Silverbolt finally got a good look at his attackers, and horror overtook him as he realised not what but who he was staring at. He rubbed at his gritty optics, just to be sure. There stood his brothers, proudly emblazoned with Decepticon insignias and deep red optics.

Any semblance of strength Silverbolt had drained from his very being. His shoulders slumped and he shook his head in dismay. “You didn’t,” he hoarsely whispered. He couldn’t fight back, not against his brothers. He’d be labelled as a traitor for not shooting a Decepticon on sight, but this was different. This was family. They weren’t enemies; they just didn’t know what they were supposed to be fighting for in this war.

Air Raid spoke up first. “We thought about it, ‘Bolt, we really did, but the Autobots’ ideals are flawed. I…we don’t see how any of it is gonna benefit us. The Decepticons hold more…promise.” He clenched his fists and forced a smile. “Let’s keep this short, you either come back with us willingly in one piece, or you come back with us in pieces.”

“You don’t know what you’re doing, all of you! You’ve been led into a trap,” Silverbolt suddenly snapped with renewed vigour. Too wrapped up in his own emotions, he failed to see Fireflight flinch at the harsh words.

“Enough chit chat,” Slingshot growled, and made his way over to the fallen Silverbolt. “Megatron ordered us to bring ‘Bolt back alive,” his lips twisted into a sneer, “but he never said what state he had to be in.”

Slingshot threw the first punch.

Hi, hello. Really sorry I don't have the usual uploads ready to post right now. I haven't finished a whole lot because me have been busy this past week. I at least had this done so might as well post it! I know, excuses, wah.

So, context for this picture. I have been doing a little fic writing and I thought of this idea (that's probably been done before, but anyway). An AU in which the Aerialbots, sans Silverbolt, had joined the Decepticons instead. The idea is only really half developed but there's a smidge more to it than them simply choosing to join. The clue here is Fireflight, but I realise now it's hard to guess what it is. Anyway! This is basically the scene that inspired the fic in the first place. Silverbolt was chased down by the previously missing Aerialbots, only to find out just why that might be.
