I really snow leopards. It's so nice to see a shot that isn't just of it's head. It has a lovely thick tail that it uses for balancing and I love that it's included. It's head is the part shown most clearly which is great b/c it's most important to see that lovely look on his face. Gotta those eyes.

I loooove his fluffy tail the most! Or well, almost the most, he has such a handsome face too.
But I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that fluffy tail is great

Yup they need that for balance on the rocky cliffs. I wish I could've gotten it in my shots but there were just so many obstructions! Don't know if I will even upload the headshots.

Ja, ich wollte so gerne sein Fell berühren (besonders seinen flauschigen Schwanz) - aber natürlich brav hinterm Gitter bleiben

Another fine series of photos that the meercats posed like that was so fortunate.
The wolf shot--I really like the misty quality-it creates great atmosphere. This shot is amazing. I see the blurred fence. These shots are so difficult to take. I wish the fence did not go across her leg and paw. I think with careful editing in Photoshop or another graphic program--I use "clone" in Corel's Paint Shop Pro, there's also a healing brush in Photoshop which I've use. I have a lot of practice in PSP 9.

Also, I'm puzzled by the black lines to the right of the Leopard--they look as though they don't belong there.

To me, touch-up in a graphics program is NOT cheating, it is part of the creative process and craft of what we do.

Sorry, I got off topic and did not finish my thought process.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

vermutlich werde ich nie den Stadtmensch begreifen,
wie er ein gefangenes Tier als schön empfinden
vermag und nicht die Verstümmelung seines
Wesens wahrnehmen vermag.
Natürlich ist das Foto gelungen. Keine Frage.

Very good picture. I know how you feel with fences and whatnot... Most of my reptile photos are through dirty glass. :/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kay-Noire In reply to shinofour [2011-01-25 08:10:07 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, yeah, glass is also very annoying. I know a few zoos were the visitors kinda look down at the compound, so since the visitor is much higher than the animal, there's no need for such a high fence and you can photograph better. But obviously it's a bigger hassle to structure a zoo that way.
But thanks! And I like your reptile photos!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kay-Noire In reply to GUILTZZ [2011-01-14 17:48:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know...I had difficulty shooting the snow leopard, because there was a a high fence around the compound, a very tight-webbed wire frame, not a wire with huge gaps between the grids, so it was kinda hard shooting through a tiny hole, while the animal was several feet above me...
But thanks for the feedback!
