Description
Several of you have asked me if our cats have been allowed off the deck yet so this afternoon we decided to let Panya have her first day outside wandering the new property - well, one very small part of it.She almost made it around the house. Did very well, no major freakouts, but I bet her nose is tired! So much sniffing...

great shot and i'm so happy she got to go outside! i on the other hand have a v. shy guinea pig... when we take him out he will only hide! he does not budge... which i am kind of sorry for as he spends his life in a 50 gal aquar and jesse's arms *.* well, at least the latter!

I have a girlfriend who built an outside run for their 4 ginnies...she started out with just a basic 2x2 chichenwire frame on the grass, but it's now about six feet long and a couple of feet wide with differeent rooms
We'll see how often she gets to go out - and if she gets to go out without supervision!

that's a great idea, to have a run... i hadn't realized until i took him out that there are so many predators! hawks & cats & dogs & ! unfortunately here at the apartments... maybe a windowbox run *.* we did have this great pompidou center tubing ladder/sun platform for our cat to get out on in our old apts... back when i had a carpenter partner (try saying that 3x fast *>*) -- jesse's dad!

The poppies are really tiny - enough water to be, just stunted, I guess

The epitome of catness! And such a lovely meadowland feel to the whole composition. Really captures the mood.

She's settled in - inside - quite well! Now we'll see about the outside. But there are soooo many nasty beasties here! My husband just had to kill a 3 foot rattle snake 'cuz it was trying to go under the deck of my daughter's flat and then this drops from the ceiling tonight [link] just found out it's a centiped... I'm really ok with bugs and such, but the worst I've ever had to deal with were black widows.... ....

eewwwwww I dont think I could deal with that. I really hate bugs, worms, spiders, etc. I have to wear gloves when I am doing yard work because I cant stand the thought of touching a worm or bug. Then the other night when I was planting flowers outside I saw two centipedes just like you had linked here. I dont think I would let my cats outside if I were you. Good snack for a snake. I would worry about them too much

We are still in a state of indicision about when, if or how much time they'll spend outside off the deck....
