Description (wallpaper sized)

The sands of the Outer Banks are made from the pieces of millions of shells didn't find too many whole ones but loved staring at the mosaic the pieces made...

Canon EOS Rebel T3i......I would say I'm looking forward to our trip in the fall....and I am, and the trip this next week (for 10 days), er leaving Friday, actually, to OH.....and the trip up for a week with my daughter in WI in August before she moves God knows where...and a trip somewhere before we lose the frequent flyer miles......but mostly I'm just looking forward to getting this summer/fall over......there just seems so much going on and so much pressure and so much to do and get done between trips and house remodeling and book covers and preparing for art shows and deadlines and company coming in two weeks..........just stop the word?...........but I am looking forward to NC. We will actually be staying with friends in Southport, a protected harbor, and not staying at the beach (about 15-20 minutes away). These friends will actually visiting us here for a few days, the day after we get home from our 10 day trip.......... Who wished "may you live in interesting times" on me???????

I love how lots of the ones on the Atlantic side are orange
makes it easy to remember where a bag of shells came from

So pretty! I picked up lots of artsy shell pieces on Ocracoke, thinking I would do something with them. They are still sitting in jars.

My daughter wanted to go to Ocracoke just because of the name!! (we laughed that it is a new flavor of Cokecola one with veggies added) We brought some home too May do something similar to this [link] with them (collected all of these shells one afternoon walking when Caitlin was little )

It is an odd name, and I suspect your interpretation of it is a lot more interesting and amusing than the real one. Ocracoke is a great place to visit because there are so many miles of pristine beach. The town itself is teeny tiny, but kind of cute.

The seashell frame is a great idea!
