I really do love it Going to have to do some repair work to the arbor after the flowers are done, this year, as last November a strong wind pushed it over (the upright part of the vine had been pulling it off center for awhile and the wind just helped
) Wisteria doesn't flower on new growth and there were so many blossoms that I just couldn't cut them all off!

No, wisteria isn't hard to grow! In fact, at lease where we are, it is harder to NOT let them grow While doing weed pulling today I had to pull up more than a dozen seedlings! Would you like me to send you some seeds? And you can try your hand at them...shoot me a note with your address and I'll send you some

I've got the envelope ready, just have to get time to stop at the PO (want to get it hand canceled so the seeds don't get squished
)

Oh, this is stunning! Looks almost too beautiful to be entirely real. I just love the mixture of colors and the vividness. I feel so much more excited for spring upon viewing this picture.

Very true. But at the very least, there will be no more complaining of cold weather.

yeah!! Haven't quite made up my mind which I like least - the cold'ish'ness of winter vs the over 100 of summer.

Gorgeous image Ruth!
I'm not a huge fan of HDR but this is a wonderful composite image and still quite natural.
Love the wisteria!

Thanks sooo much David! The sunlight was making everything glow with color
The wisteria really needs to be thinned (you can see how it has pulled the gazebo "apart") but I hate to loose all the flowers...

You're welcome!
You can always thin it out when it's done flowering. Also you can bend one or two of those runners to the ground and cover with soil. It will begin to root and you can make cuttings from these to plant elsewhere or give to a friend. Here's a [link] to some helpful info.

Thank you so much for the link - I've bookmarked it - lots of very helpful info!! I will do some cutting after the flowers are done, and I've been good about loping off the summer runners, but I'll have to do the heavy duty pruning this fall...

I love the wild look too, in fact I'm thinking about where I would put a wistera in my yard because your vine is so beautiful I want one too! I don't have a good place though....

I've seen some that have been trained to be almost like a free standing tree...along with being formed over a trellis arch. My daughter planted a couple seeds last fall to see if she can create a "bonsai" one, lol, here's the photo that inspired her [link]
