That main spiral dominates the image, Coco, and it has so many resonances with real world climbing plants such as honeysuckle, ivy, wisteria. There is even a touch of holly as well! Using that spiral in this straightforward way also adds some depth - the eye just follows it down and down into the back of the image. The pastel palette with its shades of green with a misty overlay is clean and fresh - Spring Clean you might say (ouch!). I'm not sure how you construct these images, but I imagine you do or could use overlays to edit images. Just as a thought experiment what would happen if you overlayed such an image as this with a circular colour gradient and blended it using, say, a colour blend mode? Could you then get a sort of depth effect?
Fascinating work, Coco.
Cheers
David

The blending thing is something I have worked at over the years, but I don't post any of my ideas. Perhaps I should. In landscape work, you should be able to introduce or enhance aerial perspective. I also use Topaz Texture Effects plugin to try such things out.
Anyway, it was just a thought.

A lovely thought, David. I do use Topaz with Photoshop ~ I've used it here (I think anyway) to great effect! It's one of my favourite filters with photos ~ gives a nice painterly feel.

I remember this one, Coco. Who could forget Wombat Hill?
I had another quick look at Topaz Textures yesterday, and it does have the requisite gradient filters to do the job, but then I got distracted!
Cheers

I just had a look, David ~ and my plug-in filter suite for Photoshop is called Topaz Simplify 4 v4.1.1
What distracted you ~ searching for kitty emotes? Cheers, David

Ah Ha - I bought the Topaz Textures package which has some comprehensive tools for handling layers and opacity, Coco. I got distracted by lunch, I think, but you are correct - finding good kitty emotes is a consuming task. However, I am also a tad distracted by Tom and his op tomorrow.

I love that picture of handsome Tom ~ he does look very 'contemplative' ~ and I also wish him all the best for his op tomorrow. Of course, it's still a worry for you, but I'm sure it will go well and he'll be a happy boy again. Let me know how it goes, please ~ I'll be thinking of him. Coco
